Hi Guys,

I'm slated to go to Manila on Sunday so I can do my medical exam at St Luke's this week. I'm planning to go there on Monday for the exam. I am just wondering if this would be prudent in light of Pepeng just around the corner. I am not that good with geography. I honestly would'nt be able to find my way out of a giant plastic bag. So I am at a loss if it has been affected by Ondoy. Or in imminent danger from Pepeng. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I had planned to stay there for 5 days. So I was thinking if not Monday, then maybe the day after or the next. Do you guys think though I should just move it to the week after? So far there have been flights from Tacloban to Manila and to Cebu.

Thanks in advance people.

I'm hoping to have my medical exam on Monday also. However, I don't have the NVC letter yet. I'm worried that it might be an issue at SLEC. The thing is my fiance moved before he receives the NVC letter. He already called NVC for the CAN but NVC can't answer if they have sent the letter to the old address or to the new one... I wonder if NOA2 only will be fine at SLEC.

Anyways, if I'm not mistaken, there are VJ members who were able to have their medical exams last Monday (after Ondoy, which was Saturday). My guess is that if Pepeng is not as bad as Ondoy, SLEC will be ok.

Oh really. Well that's a relief. I had the letter NVC sent me regarding my appointment printed out and I'm thinking it should suffice. Hopefully I'm right. I'll also bring the very first email they sent me when my hubby filed a petition for me. Not sure if I have need for other paperwork. I don't think anyone has mentioned anything beyond that.

When's your interview by the way? Mine is slated for October 16th at 6:30am. Ayayay. ;P

We haven't called the embassy yet to set-up an interview schedule. The embassy just received our case either yesterday or today (left NVC last Sep. 28). I will call them up on Monday to get an interview date. Hopefully we'll be able to get a slot in the 3rd week.

Goodluck to us!

it's best that you call st luke's directly before hopping on a flight to manila, to make sure they're open the day you plan to have your med exam. flights might get cancelled too if pepeng hits hard.

good luck and god bless!

Last I saw, Pepeng was turning into a SuperTyphoon, with speeds rated at 200+ KPH, even meaner than Ondoy. Good luck, and take it in stride with any delays. Better safe than sorry. You will pass your medical fine, sis. Maybe just a week later than you planned. Good luck.
