Our I-130 and our I-129F were approved on September 18, 2009. Wow. That stage went pretty quick for us. NVC sent our petition to the embassy on September 25, 2009 and so far I have heard nothing. I am presuming that it went to the Vancouver Embassy since that is what we requested and I live in BC; however, I didn't ask. Does anyone know how long it takes before hearing from the Vancouver Embassy and what their interview wait times are for the K3 visa?

I was checking the web page for the Vancouver Consulate and they have redid their website and there is now nothing on it about a K3 Visa. Please tell me someone if they are still doing K3 visas.

And yes, I do know that a CR1 is a better way to go; however, we need my income and my spouses to qualify for the I-864 so our plan is to get the K3/K4 visas. Come to the USA and apply for my EAD, get approval and find a job and work for 6 months and then apply for our adjustment of status using our combined incomes. We have someone willing to provide financial support (I-134 which the Vancouver Embassy may ask for) for the K3 since it is only for 2 years, but is not willing to co-sponsor for a CR1 so we need to qualify on our own.

Congrats on your approval!

Since you have co-sponsor issues regarding which visa you follow, yes Vancouver still processes K visas (and are scheduling faster than Montreal does).

You might want to post this on the Canada forum for a better understanding of the timeline

Good luck.

Thanks. I actually tried to post this on the Canadian forum. I have a hard time with the computer things sometimes. HA HA Hopefully some fellow Canadians will read it.

^^Agreed, you will find more info regarding timelines on the Canada forum but Vancouver does seem to move much more quickly than Montreal. Congratulations on your approval!
