Ok...I'm looking for some specifics of CFO Seminar.

My fiancee has plans to go to PRISM because it is close to where she will be. Should she go to St. Mary's instead?

She is 21....will she need anything from her mother?

What papers and how many copies should she bring?

Is PRISM or St. Mary's better?

Just trying to nail down some answers at one time. :) She is planning to go Oct 7th.

Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure abour Prism, but I can tell you this much St. Mary's is not as strict.

I believe per Philippines Family Code, 18 to 21 needs Parental Consent. We did one and had it notarized.

I strongly suggest she attend St. Marys instead of PRISM. There has been way too many issues with PRISM in the past, and from posters on VJ the last couple of years St. Marys seems to be the hands down choice.

When my wife did CFO they made 21 year old from Baguio go home and get one of her parents to come with her. They wouldn't let her in until she did so.

Personnel at CFO are notorious for comig up wth weird things. The made a friend of mines lady get his 20 page transcript of divorce. Wouldn't accept the absolute decree!!

Thanks.....we were planning on PRISM. But, now I think we will go to St. Mary's. My fiancee is anxious to get seminar and medical done and over. I just wanted to make sure that "our ducks were all in a row" before we go so that we avoid any problems.

If her mom goes with her, will that be ok instead of notorized letter? I would actually feel better if someone was with her anyway. :)

I have sent her a copy of my I-129f. Is that sufficient for any info they may ask about me. Also some pictures?

When my fiance went for her CFO, they demanded a Certificate of Singleness from me here in the US. Well in the US we don't have Cenomar's ... so I had to look up what my state of residence had to offer and found a state certificate that stated no record of marriage is found in the state I reside. That was the odd ball thing she faced from the CFO ( THis was Cebu BTW ) ... she also had a letter of consent from her parent.

If I learned anything during this process ... have her mother with for the CFO, gathering documents etc ... they tend to listen and be more accepting when the parent is with.

Hi!!! I already had my CFO done last June. They said I could do it before or after getting the visa so i decided to do the counseling and will just go back there for the sticker. I had the seminar in PRISM. I had to go back because she asked for fiance's divorce decree. She also asked me to bring some photos, which I always have in my bag (wallet size photos)...I don't know if PRISM is better than St. Mary's or vice versa.

She will also need to fill out a form asking some info about the petitioner and the beneficiary like education, occupation, religion...The lady there even asked me to write the maiden name of my fiance's mother.

Good luck....

Hi there!!

Either will do as long as the location suits her better. I had my seminar at PRISM.Let her bring the following copies:

1. NSO birth certificate

2. NBI clearance

3 .Valid Ids

4. passport copy(first and last pages)

5. birth certificate of petitioner( for easy reference of mother's maiden name)

Be sure she knows the petitioner's/fiance's tel. and cellphone numbers, his occupation, educational background, and home address. These are asked in the forms.

Hope this helps!

When we talk of St. Mary's and PRISM locations of CFO Office, are we talking about in Manila?

Also, how much is the fee to attend the CFO seminar?

:star:

Yes, they are talking about Manila. It's been awhile since my wife done her CFO, so I am not updated on the cost. Here is a link for you.. http://www.cfo.gov.ph/

hi! I thought i'd throw in my Qs. My fiance and I are both 23, still single, never been married, should we still provide any proof of singleness for him? oh yeah, he's in okinawa so i think that would be hard to get.

I was reading the cfo website, I ddnt know they would still require a NBI clearance
