I'm guessing you have AT&T, formerly Cingular, and AT&T again before Cingular bought them. They are, hands down, the worst cell phone provider on earth and have been since Cingular took over many years ago. I've used them all (except T-Mobile) and my favorite is U.S. Cellular. Me and my wife pay a total of $90/month (after all of the taxes) for 250 text messages each, 1000 shared minutes, unlimited night and weekend minutes, unlimited mobile to mobile minutes, unlimited incoming minutes, and unlimited incoming text messages. Plus, I can't remember the last time I had a dropped call or a problem w/ service. The only thing is, U.S. cellular is not a prominent service outside of the Midwest.

T-mobile is very good, I use it in USA and in France, hubby has one in Paris, never static, or dropped call. Pricing good, considering atleast 2 internations calls a day, and too many texts back and forth to each other internationally. Average bill for 2 phones and a data stick $300.00 a month, plus date stick works wherever Im at in the world.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

My cellphone company is called Telus.

They're Canadian exclusive.

I've only had to call them once for a problem and they were super helpful.

I only have Pay As You Go, so I hardly even use 10 dollars a month on mine.

Worst is Bell Canada, or whatever Bell company does cellphones.

I've NEVER liked their customer service.

They're terrible and every time I call I usually get someone with an accent you can hardly hear through.

Maybe their cellphone service is better, but I've never been impressed with Bell Canada what so ever.

I am with TELUS too and have always had great service with them -- I am really not looking forward to leaving them! :( They always send me a free gift at Christmas ... last year it was chocolates! Mmm :)

I have heard good things about Verizon, which I know (at one point, anyway) TELUS was partially owned by, so I'll be going with them when I move down.

Verizon had poor coverage in my area, but they at least let me out of my contract without forcing me to pay a cancellation fee when I brought this to their attention, so I don't have any problem with them, and I have heard people say good things about them. AT&T/Cingular on the other hand - stay away from this service. I could hardly make any calls with their service since the coverage was almost non-existent in my area and told them I wanted out because their service was unusable. They claimed I still had to pay the termination fee which I of course did not pay. They sent me collection notices for about a year asking for the termination fee until I sent them a strongly worded letter pointing out how I was not about to hold up my end of the bargain since they did not hold up theirs. Idiots.

I use Verizon. I live on a hill, above the cell towers, so nobody has good coverage at my home. I still use a land line at home. I inherited Verizon when they bought GTE, which was my original cell provider.

The only complaint I've got about Verizon has to do with a single customer service rep, and not the company in general. At one time I had a phone added to my account for a friend. This rep at a Verizon store allowed my friend to make substantial changes to his service (i.e., MY service), including renewing my contract in order to get a discount on a new Blackberry, and adding a digital data package that cost $50 a month, all without my permission. When I called Verizon about it they were really pissed at the rep. As far as I know, he was fired.

T-Mobile is one of the few services in the US that use GSM phones. Very handy if your SO lives in a country that uses GSM and SIM chips, since you can swap SIM's and use the same phone in their country. I have to keep a second phone just to use when I'm in Asia. My Verizon phone is useless there.

I am with Verizon, they are no so back, actually folks keep in mind your minutes count specially right before your billing cycle.

IF you notice that you are about to go over or have gone over, YOU CAN UPGRADE to the next minutes plan which will cost you maybe an extra $10-20, then after the cycle is over jsut call them back to switch back to your original minute plan.

This is with Verizon so i am not sure if it works the same way with other phone company, if you don't call them and your biling cycle is over you'll WACKED with those expensive extra charges.

Gone but not Forgotten!

i'm actually quite happy with at&t

(plus I have an employee plan, so i pay way less :P)

usually the most common problem with cellphone unhappiness, besides reception, is the customer's idea of how much he/she talks.. most overage charges are because people say 'na i don't talk that much, the 450 min plan is enough' when usually is not.. or 'i don't send that many sms' or 'of course I didn't use the internet to download a ringtone, it wasn't me!'..

I find the whole concept of having to pay for incoming text message odd.

And AT&T customer service sucked for us.
