why is car insurance skewed in US?

My fiance who is coming over has the best car insurance...she doesnt pay a dime--and its for all repairs.......car insurance in America is only for collision--not for regular repairs....why is that?

Because this is America...where everything costs and nothing is free.

Seriously, I wish I knew. But my auto insurance is a heck of a lot better than my health insurance.

that's true America is all about money. you can buy a coverage plans for your car repair from companies like usfidelis. I don't know if any Insurance companies provides that plan.

We use car insurance for collision and comprehensive and a few other things... like road side assistance, towing and rental car reimbursement.

For general maintenance repairs you need to purchase warantees. Typically when you purchase a car it comes with a certain amount of warantee by default from the manufacturer. Different car brands come with different default warantees. Then, when you do the financing on the vehicle, you can purchase additional warantees to cover what they call "bumper to bumper". Its typically not that expensive and is rolled into the price of your loan. You can also purchase "Gap" insurance which covers the difference between what the insurance company pays in the event that you crash the car and its unfixable and how much your loan actually is.
