I have been keeping an eye on peoples timelines here...how is it possible apply in August, NOA1 , then NOA 2 Also August...and approval? Also How is it correct that K1 Visas are faster to approve than people filing for K3, married already? this is upside down...

Our case has not been touched since the first time back in June 6th, for the I130, and June 26 for the I129f..nothing, no status change, no updates, no info, nothing...until your past 5 months there is nothing anyone will tell you...this system is broken...over 2 million applications a year, they need HELP!...we are taking the legal route yet we must wait in LIMBO, with nobody telling us anything, as people walk across our borders...this is so frustrating,

God, how I miss my wife...

Why can nothing be done? Don't we as fee payers and tax payers pay these people salary? does congrees work for us?

Oh, how frustrating and heartbreaking is this process...grown men brought to tears...

I know how u feel.. they said its CASE TO CASE. but i don't know how they check that..

We file JULY 07 2009 we got approved September 1, 2009.. but now our papers still at NVC

waiting for Ds3032.. just pray and more patients.. some it will take more than 6 months to get approved..

i know its unfair.. yes u are right.. how come FIANCEE visa it will take short process than who are already MARRIED..

hope everything went well to our PAPERS..

god bless

I was looking at the members timelines here. I noticed that fiancee visa applicants have short/shorter timelines. Some even got their visas within 5 months tops from the day they sent I-129.

Keep in mind though that K1 visa holders still have to apply for work authorization and adjustment of status once they arrive in the US. Immiediate Relative immigrant visa holders get their green cards right away once they enter the US. So, if you're going to compare the lineline of a K1 applicant with that of someone who went the I-130 route, look at the timeline from the date the petition was filed to the date permanent residency was approved by USCIS or the consulate.

Some petitioners prefer their partners to be with them the fastest possible time though, so that their long and desolate wait for sexual gratification be over soon!

The USCIS is self funded so your tax dollars does not pay their wages. The Senate has a committee over the USCIS, but it only seems to take action on matters like price increases and the backlog on FBI checks for AOS a couple years back. You can contact your Senator when your case is out of processing time and they can inquire. But, the USCIS rarely speeds up.

Gonzales promised faster processing times using technology with the 60% fee increase in 2007, but then the process actually slowed down. He retired after the fee increase and hiring more employees to take care of the large backlog the fee increase created. The processing times are getting back to normal times before the 2007 backlogs.

The answer to the why can nothing be done question is simply not enough people care about the immigration process enough to complain for changes. Several VJers have tried to get enough people together to make a group protest, but not enough VJers were willing to participate. Most seem to be satisfied with venting on VJ.

I tried to makes changes in 2007/2008 by contacting senators/congressman, the Department of State, and even the USEM. Emails, letters, and even phone calls were used. Unfortunately, my sole efforts made little or no change.

Claudeth's petition was approved in less than two weeks so it does happen. She had her visa in less than four months and I have seen others that were through quicker than her. The length of time varies from petition for various reasons. I would suggest you just prepare for about a 9 month process. Believe it or not, it does end sooner or later. Good luck

Please check our timeline. It is as accurate as I can make it. We waited for a very long time before we finally got our NOA2.

Some go fast and others go slow but they all finish.

Hang in there!!!

jsnearline makes a good point ...

CR-1 visa holders get a SS card in the mail within 2 weeks after they arrive in the U.S. and the 2 year green card follows shortly after ... they are able to work right away ... and no need to apply for EAD ...

We will see if being in the military and deployed will help out our case. I did ask for expedited processing...it was approved, but I submitted right before the holidays...so that may work against me too.
