K3 Visa- Divorce Shanghai battle

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions and opinions.

What I want to clarify is that we have not traveled to the US yet. The K-3 she has will only be adjusted when we arrive in the US (which will not happen since we will file for a divorce in china and I will get documents notarized). When she interviewed we submitted the I-134 and not the I-864 even though we had filed it out- it was not requested.

Do I have any legal obligations to her if we get divorced in China and never arrive to the US on her K-3 visa? Other than notifiying the USIC or US consulate in China is there anything else?

Lawyers are trying to charge me $350/hr for consultation.

You'll only have legal obligations to her that are specified in the divorce decree. If you are doing the 'one day' divorce in China, make sure you have translator that YOU paid for (not her ) with you during that day, at your side, reviewing everything that you have to sign. So, if you are looking to NOT have legal obligations to her, make sure the divorce document contains NO OBLIGATIONS.
