when I told my husband the yankees were the "man united of baseball" he was able to get into baseball properly for the first time. Hating a team as much as he hated Man U was a concept he could really get his around.

It's a well known fact that Man Utd. supporters are chavs

I despise all boston teams. I am so looking forward to when the Lakers overtake the Celtics record for most world championships. Regarding the Red Sox, they have BECOME the Yankees. Everything they have done in the last 8 years has been a virtual reflection of what the Yankees did. The Yankees are able to spend so much money on players and scouting not just because they are in the number one market, but because of their superior business model. The team runs at a deficit, however, they are able to more than compesate with other business ventures. I dont' fault them for their forethought, nor do I hate them for winning. Don't hate the playa, hate the game

I asked the husband, expert on the matter, which premier league team is most closely associated w/ chavs, and he said, "All of them." So there you have it.

Actually, Jon [my dude] and I were talking about Millwall recently. He mentioned that they're perceived as having the most violent fans.

I've only been to a few premier league games (all Fulham--Jon's uncle has season tickets). It does seem that the highest concentration of--er--unattractive fans is in the away section!

I find it so hard to root for the Angels. I despised them for a number of years purely because Disney owned them. By the same token, I despised the Dodgers for roughly 3 years during the timeframe that FOX owned them.

I am largely indifferent to the Dodgers though I still have issues from when Kirk Gibson left Detroit, especially since many consider his walk off home run in the 1988 world series to be superior to him sending the Goose's first pitch into the right field upper stands in the 1984 world series, which is clearly delusional.
