It's quite alright if your NOA expires by interview time, mine did. Montreal automatically extends it for you.

Hi, I am Australian/Canadian waiting for my K1 interview in Montreal. I put in packet 3 end of June. Just to be safe I emailed Montreal and had them make a note on my file that I would not be interviewed in October as I am in Australia introducing my fiance to my family, so they wont schedule me for then, as it will be four months as of end of June since they received P3. I was sure to put my case file# in the subject line and was to the point but very polite, I received a response in three days and then when I needed clarification they responded immediately. This month I will email them to see if I am scheduled for November as we hope. Good Luck!
