Oh I could so eat a Greggs pastie right now. I just discovered this thread & my mouth is watering! lol I used to go there for my lunch most days & I miss it!

I was walking down the soft drink aisle in the supermarket & wished I could buy some Vimto! I used to drink that stuff by the gallon. Why don't they have cordial here?

Haribo's too! My friend brough me over a huge bag of them in August. I've rationed myself to a couple a day & now I'm on my last dozen. Gutted.

omg..................i forgot vimto...i love vimto. why did you remind me of vimto.............oh no.......now i've got to remember vimto. i was just remembering robinsons.....but vimto.

deep breath..

i'm happy ( sans vimto) but happy.

Filing AOS tomorrow...so... maybe i'll find some vimto somewhere.

I tried to explain cordial to my wife and she didn't get it!

The nearest ive tasted to English bread is what is known out here as french bread that i get from Walmart or Albertsons....what we would see in Tescos but called a bloomer.....

Whole Foods do some more englishy tasting stuff...but be prepared to pay through the nose.....whole earth organic baked beans taste like how we remember them....

Im loving all the extra flavours of Special K out here tho......and the fact its pretty easy to find dairy free ice cream...carrot cake flavour..mmmmmmmm

WHY DID I OPEN THIS TOPIC.... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

There is a shop that sells overpriced British stuff near where i will be living in Mass

If you mean the one in Plymouth, yes, very overpriced. I paid $5 for just 40 teabags. Chocolate bars are around $1.50 and a pot of Bisto is also $5.. but it is good to satisfy cravings.

AHH Sunday Roast!!

Now I can't wait to get back! Already told my husband I want a Gregg's Pasty a day and I'm happy. But now I added Sunday Roasts, Chip shop chips, Hula Hoops, Wheat Crunchies... and the list gos on!

We also have an "Irish" shop close which is very over priced but made my husband smile. Got him some Heinz beans, marmite, tea, and sweets of course.

We have haribo here but not the ones I liked in England, I can't find the strawbs here.

No cordial.,..it's so weird eh. We buy the massive powdered lemonade from Costco and make it up all the time and put it in the fridge. My husband also loves Ribena and we just paid $16 for one bottle the other day. I also bought 160 PG Tips for about the same price, outrageous. I was thinking about starting up a blackcurrant shop, I think they'd love it here in San Francisco. Has anyone ever looked up blackcurrant on Wiki...? It was banned in some states which I thought was strange, time for a blackcurrant revolution me thinks.

Oh and thanks for the Sunday roast chat...it's Sunday and I'd kill for one but Halloween wrecked me so it's not gonna happen.

Loving this thread!!
