K1 NOA1 (Receipt Date or Notice Date)

For the NOA1, should I focus on the receipt date or the notice date? Please tell me receipt date cuz my petition is at the infamous CSC, and I need all the HELP that I can get. To date, no approvals in July so far for CSC. Goodness gracious somebody help us all!

Guys - you are going by the "Received Date" on the paper NOA1, correct?

For example, I overnighted my petition to NSC on March 22. My received date is March 23. The physical NOA1 was mailed to me on March 24 and I received it on April 4. I am ignoring the mailing and receipt date of the NOA1 because my petition was entered into the NSC system on March 23.

Am I making sense?

Exactly on the NOA1 there it lists the receipt date. That is the date it was entered into the computer, the notice date is the date it was sent out.

Lets try this again .. it's not " receipt "date it's " received " date or " notice " date ( it had been so long since i looked @ our NOA1 i forgot there was two ) We went by the Notice Date April 18th .. the Received Date was April 14th.. I think that Notice Date was a no brainer considering it is titled Notice of Action .. @ any rate it can't be much more then a few days between the two so it's the same old hurry up and wait regardless

Ok thanks - I see "Received Date" as March 23 - the day the fed ex was delivered and the day it was entered. I had been going by April 4, the date I received the NOA. And you're right of course - either way it's only a few days difference. But I'm sticking with the March date because it makes me feel better that my damn RFE will be processed shortly and my approval will be here before September - I can't hang any hope on a date any sooner because CSC is that slow.

Depending on whether you received an I-797 or a I-797C NOA. The date you go by is either listed as a receipt or received date.

NOA1 will have both a 'received date' and a 'notice date'

NOA1 received date, is the date that your petition was physically received at the service center. The petition is also stamped with this date when it is received. (This is according to the USCIS website....however the received/receipt date and date stamped as received could be a day or two after actually physically received)

NOA1 notice date, is the date that your petition is entered into the system and a notice issued.

From a prior post that explains the dates on both the NOA1 & the NOA2

NOA1..................................................NOA2

Received Date: October 13, 2005.......................Receipt Date: October 17, 2005

Notice Date: October 17, 2005.........................Notice Date: November 22, 2005

Priorty Date: 'will be blank'.........................Priorty Date: October 13, 2005

Highlighted in RED is the NOA1 Received Date & NOA2 Priorty Date. This is the Date by which USCIS uses and also the date that we use to guage whether our date is past the processing date. (Not everyone will have a priority date listed and this is not important. only for the excercise.)

If you look at them both together, using how I have highlighted them, there is a pattern.

Also note the different use of the term Received & Receipt. If you note you will see that all the receipt date (NOA2) is, is the date that the NOA1 (Notice Date) was generated.

The above table is assuming too that they have sent I-797C for NOA1 & I-797 for NOA2. Discussions on the board in that past have never been quite able to see any pattern as to which one is used for what as it appears to be random. From memory the I-797 is an older version. I-797 seems to use the term Receipt & I-797C uses Received.

Just to add some information, both my NOAs were I-797s. My NOA-1 said "Received Date" and my NOA-2 said "Receipt Date". My "Priority Date" was blank on both forms.

That's the best new's that I have had since my last touch on 08Jul06 cuz my "Receipt Date" is 11May06 and my "Notice Date" is 23May06. With CSC, that might be the differrence in a few weeks... hell months. LOL!

notice date is the notice date you can put that in vj or anything else.

 

bt the dates we are talking about in the forums are received dates because uscis goes according to that date. (The date shows on their website)
