Youtube is down for maintenance so I can't check out the video right now.

Our Fresno Fair is starting on the 9th next week. Trinket, your fair sounds really HUGE! At ours, the most exotic foods are the funnel cakes (yum!) and corn dogs (which I don't have, being vegetarian). However the food at those fairs often makes me feel queasy, I guess I am not used to so much grease and rich food!

We have to do a shopping trip this weekend, that's it. The rest of the time we'll be lazing at home. This weekend I really need to continue my Mayflower Research - I'm gathering documents of proof to get into the Mayflower Society! B)

Really! :o I came to Fresno four years ago. I came back from India to Mt Shasta where my mom and Sis are, but it was tooooo cold for me. I need Indian heat! I knew friends here so came, got a good job and here I stayed. But I would rather be in a small town instead of a bustling city. I work downtown and we live on Blackstone and Ashlan - not the best area, but best we can afford for now.

We live in a small town right now, I have no problems with small town because I grew up in one of those but my husband misses Fresno a lot. I think more has to do with food and friends for him. Out here food is different for him, he is used to real authentic hot Mexican food but you can't get something like that in Midwest.

He feels Fresno would be good for me, his dad used to live there till 2 years back, now FIL lives in Georgia. Hopefully next year hubby will take me for a trip back to Fresno, they still have their old home out there :).

Oh my god, I just asked my husband if he knows where Blackstone and Ashlan is, he says he is from there, he used to live there and knows the neighborhood very well :P

Gosh, everyone I talk to wants to get out of Fresno! Funny your hubby wants to come back. Yes, lots of Mexicans here so plenty of authentic Mexican food!

Good ole Blackstone and Ashlan! He might even know Blackstone Acres Apts where we are staying in a 400-square foot studio apartment. We keep planning on moving to a better area to at least a one bedroom but we are tooo lazy to do it yet. Hubby works in Arco near Dakota and Blackstone - walking distance. As I write this, he is sitting beside me watching a Chiranjeevi cinema on his laptop. :star:

Hi Third, good luck for a fast K1 process!

Sorry it has taken so long Sara  , hopefully now it will go fast! Perviz will be lucky to move to a place like his own town in some ways. My hubby came from a small village but it was more busy then in this town of nearly a million. In India people are often outside or walking or sitting on doorsteps with their doors open; instead of here where everyone closes their doors and drives about in their own cars. In India I would always be approached by curious people asking where I came from, inviting me to have lunch with their families, etc. Here, people pretty much just ignore each other unless working in the same office, etc. Maybe in small towns it is different and people know each other more? That would make your hubby even more comfortable!

well for sure it wont be like india but this is a pretty decent place people walking all over cuz of recent health kicks, also people trying to stop smoking things like that..........and there is a place that a lot of JUST men go for coffee in the mornings, some women go but the men want time to talk about who should have been president, who took the jones cow, or in our case did u see how those two girls scored for our team in volley ball might go to state this year (both my younger sisters play volley ball and are great)........im thankful that everyone is nosy i wasnt always but now that im older i see the benefit of it......kind of hard for someone to rob ur house when they know what cars and people belong there lol...

im also sure that after they see he has arrived a few people will show up to meet him pretty much everyone in our small town is excited .........when i was sending faxes and things to the white house we had to do it thru our phone company as its the only reliable place to fax anything around here......took about two minutes for the complete town to know

I would love to be in a place where I could see more people walking all over, during winter it gets worse. Really it feels like you live in a ghost city or something.
