I am trying to prepare the DS230 before I get it from NVC. I understand that onlyDS 230 part 2 has to be filled (Right?). Another thing is my wife told me that in addition to DS 230 part 1 there is another form that has to be filled (Is this true. What form is it?)

Thanks!

Both DS 230 Part I and II have to be filled out. NVC requires the DS 230 part I and part II for soem countries' applicants. NVC schedules interview for those countries. For most countries' applicants need to submit DS 230 part I to NVC for whom the Embassy/Consulate schedules interview. In that case, the applicants will take the DS 230 Part II to the Embassy during their interviews. Applicants need to sign and date the DS 230 Part I but applicants must not sign the DS 230 Part II. Applicants will sign the DS 230 Part II during their interview in front of the consular officer.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Filed: Country: Philippines

Thanks so much for clarifying the issue :)
