On XXXX, the document we made based on the approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued.

This message is given in the ff. instances:

- when an RFE was sent to you

- when your change of address has been updated in the USCIS system

- when you are approved with a pending document required for approval

- in a very rare case, "one" immigration lawyer said it means a denial of your application

It will be interesting to see exactly which one of those is the real answer. As far as I know, no one who received that email has received their NOA2 in the mail, so I assume it isnt an approval.

Would be nice if CSC could send an email that used proper english and said exactly what it meant.

Here is what my attorney said (my fiancee lives in New Orleans):

They sent (beneficiary) a copy of the RFE to her address and it was returned. So they sent it to me (the attorney) and asked me to fill out a change of address form. But I am not going to do that because that is her correct address that needs to be on the form - she is just not getting mail there (because mail is still not working in New Orleans!). Since I get all the originals of all correspondence from Immigration this is not an issue. This has happened in many of my cases post-Katrina and this is how I have handled it without any problem.

This is quite a specific case but it might give further clues!

Yes I had the same happen to me. My lawyer moved and wasn't able to receive mail so my Noa1 was sent back to CSC. They then mailed it to me and then asked me to do a change of address. I asked my lawyer to update his address and was told it was taken care of. Now I get this status again and I don't know why especially considering I never received anything in the mail. My status is dated July 11 and I already sent in my RFE.

Not to make a big deal of this, but what kind of lawyer doesn't change his address with the US Postal service and cannot receive mail? Seriously, I continue to be pissed off on your behalf Barry!

For those that are more comfortable with an immigration attorney, perhaps having the documents sent directly to you, may be more prudent. You can always fire off a copy, via fax or scan to the attorney for continued advice.

Why choke up that aspect of the process, with the mail going to the attorney first? Is their any benefit in this?

Just a thought.

Our IMBRA RFE was sent on 6/23, but of course we only learned about it when they sent us an email on 6/27, a day after my fiance updated his change of address with USCIS. The RFE was then sent to the old address, then back to CSC. CSC mailed it again, but now to the new address, and the postmark was 7/10. They included the old envelope as proof they've sent it to the old address on 6/23.

In my case, this message was related to getting an RFE and changing of address, and hopefully close to getting approved pending on IMBRA process ;)

Yours could be something, who knows you might get your NOA2 in the mail soon. Good luck!

I have no way of knowing if this is accurate - but I just read on I2US that this email is a "a boiler plate response the USCIS uses after an RFE"

I think you are right kitkat. I think this message goes out when the center gets a "return to sender" I have had this status twice. The first time I was mailed my NOA1 along with the the returned envelope that said "return to sender law office of xxxxxxx is temporarily away" I guess it was bad timing since he said he had his mail forwarded. The second time I don't know what happened....I got my RFE but then later I got the message again," the document we made based on the approval bla bla bla..." but I still have nothing in the mail.

Barry2005, 1111 -- Since you both had returned mail issues, I think that means that's what the email was about.
