Assembling the I864 Packet....

Just some random questions about assembling the I864 packet......do we need to punch the 2 holes on top of the whole packet like what VJ guide suggested for the I130 packet? And I read about writing the NVC case number on every page, so let say to write it on the top right hand corner of every page is okay then? Can we use staples for the different documents? Or if paper clip is preferred?

ANy suggestion is appreciated. I'm planning to send off the packet tomorrow! Thanks everyone!

I don't recall us punching holes in the documents. But for the I864, yes put the NVC case number on every page as directed. Staples are fine. If I recall, that's what we used.

I did not read the holes thingy, figure they can punch whatever damn holes they waint... However, I did write my NVC# on everypage. I used staples to attach documents that went together, left the actual 864 un-stapled and put a big clippie to put everything together....

Hey Guys! I just got my NOA2 yesterday and I am getting the necessary paperwork for the NVC stage.

I have a question about the I-864 tax information.

I ordered my tax transcripts for the last 3 years (06, 07, and 08). I also recently (this past July) changed jobs. So I've gathered all the pay stubs necessary, etc. etc. etc. etc.

But, my Question is, in 2006 I made just UNDER $7,000. I was a graduate student back then, and that was pretty much all I made. Good thing is, my income went up dramatically in 2007 and 2008 (and this year as well), so at least for 2007 and 2008, I made more than enough to meet the 125% requirement.

Is there going to be any problems for the NVC because of the 2006 tax and because I switched jobs this past year, even though this year (2009), so far I have made more than enough for the 125% requirement and I have around $10,000 in savings?

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!!!!!

Should not be a problem at all since the last two years you made way above the minimum requirement.

The case number can be written on every page, however we did not punch any holes in the I864 packet, and it was accepted the same.

So only returns from the most recent tax year (2008) is mandatory? Tax returns for 2006 and 2007 are optional? If I do file for 2006 and 2007, I will need to complete a separate I-864 for each year, yes? Likewise for the joint sponsor? Thanks.

I had the same thing happen to me. I debated giving all three years because one year was under the 125% requirement but ultimately I did include that information. I didn't have any RFEs due to this and at the embassy they didn't care. As long as you can prove over 125% for the current year with pay stubs then you will be fine.
