If you want to file the K-3 you have to wait for the NOA-1 before you can send in the petition (follow the guides)

If you ask me, you REALLY want to stick with the I-130 and go for the CR-1. Again, follow the guides

Good luck, now comes the tough part...waiting

I file my I-130 back on September 11, I just got my NOA1. If you could explain the difference for CR-1 and K3 please. I thought after appoval of my I-130 the paper would go to the NVC and be forward from there to the Connsulate in HCMC Vietnam. There an packet will be mail to my wife. I will need to send her papers for proof of support.

A CR1, once complete gets you a Green Card upon entry into the US... The K3 allows your spouse to come over, but you have to file for Adjustment of status... Right now, the K3's are almost obsolete since the CR/IR visas are processing in about the same time... Plus the K3 costs more to do... You can read about the difference in the guides on which visa to file, but for my 2 cents, go for the CR, then you dont have to go through the hassle of Adjustment of status and it takes a bout the same amount of time...

Also, in the CR, all the documents are sent to NVC then to the embassy for an interview... For the K3, your package is sent to the embassy and they collect the documents...
