Hello,

My wife just arrived in the US, and is waiting to receive her green card in the mail. I saw that it can take 2-3 months for it to arrive. Is she able to work before the card arrives? And if she can, what do we need to do on our side?

She should have the temporary I-551 stamp in her passport (or noted on the actual visa) which authorizes her for employment.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

True that :thumbs:

But do remember that most employees do ask for SSN, so you might have to wait for SSN before she can apply for jobs. And usually GC arrives within a month's time.
