I am an US citizen and living in Duabi (United Arab Emirates)with my husband for last 2 months. I am planning to file I-130 for my husband.

Because of short stay in Dubai I cannot go for DCF (Direct consulate File). As minimum of 06 months stay is required to file DCF.

Can anyone tell me

  • where do I need to file I¬-130 for my husband.
  • How to pay fee, can I pay by personnel cheque of Dubai base bank.

thanks

the adress you send to is based on your most recent US address... this is indicated in the instructions to the I-130

fees are paybale in US dollars drawn on a US bank

I am also a US citizen that filed an I 130 on behalf of my husband in Dubai. We already received our NOA2 and are now at the NVC stage. Where is your husband originally from? Perhaps I can share part of our journey with you that we have experienced thus far.

Thanks, my husband is from Pakistan I am living with him in Dubai. I read your story how you meet and got marriage .

In Dubai it is really difficult to get marriage.

Can you please share with me what evidence did you include to prove bona fides of marriage. I am in the process of gathering documents, filling forms, your advise will help me a lot.

I love to hear from you about your experience if you don’t mind

Thanks

Assalamalikum sister,

I would be more than happy to share with you our visa journey I sent the following w/our I - 130 petition:

I 130 cover letter

I - 130

G325a for myself and for my husband ----add passport photos w/the G325a

Copy of marriage certificate (the original you will send to NVC)

Photos of the valima

Photos of us together in Dubai and India

Airline boarding passes

Using Yahoo messenger I opened the message history between my husband and myself. I displayed every time we chatted in list view, I print screened this to a Word document and sent this in.. I don't want everyone to know what my husband and I talk about.....

I was initially using calling cards so I sent in the online purchase receipts for these...we are now using magic jack to communicate.........this saved a lot of money

Receipts of the wedding rings

Emails between us, My US passport (all pages)

I provided add'l statement explaining the arrangements for the marriage and copy of the Power of Attorney

In your case you can have someone, a neighbor, provide a statement that they understand the two of you are married and are currently residing together

My advice is to not overload them with too much but if you decide to then just organize it very neatly with a cover letter and arrange things in the order the cover letter provide

I used the ling che shortcuts and vj guides

Try to take photos that would indicate the two of you are together in dubai i.e. dubai ski, Burj Al Arab, Atlantis, Malls etc.,

If you have any doubts or questions, feel free to ask..anytime.....let me know once you are at the stage of NVC will advise you accordingly..

Jazak Allah Khair

thank you for your help. i have another question for you, how i will get NOA1?? at my dubai address or USA address??. Can i mention my sister address as she is in USA.

Hmm that's a good question. I'm not sure. Which address did you list as the address your husband will be staying at in the USA... Question #18. It is my understanding the NOA1 will be sent to the address you list on the I 130 Question 2. You may have to phone USCIS for this one.

Can any other VJers offer some advice here please?

I am thinking to send my I-130 packet to this address. as i will send via FEDEX

Any U.S. resident petitioner submitting a completed I-130 by courier/express delivery, should use the following address:

USCIS Lockbox

Attn: SAI-130

131 South Dearborn – 3rd Floor

Chicago, IL 60603-5517

Can I mention my correspondence address in cover letter so that it will be more understandable for them....if its work..???

HI Ashes,

where are you living in pk currently.....me and my hubby also from pk.

US Wife,

Yes, you can send it to the above mentioned address. I'll be using a courier service in PK that delivers to PO Boxes so will be sending it to the lock box for my state. Will your correspondence address be different from what you list in #2 of the I-130? If so, then it might be a good idea to clarify in your cover letter - however, I'm sure others here might have more info on this.

I live in Lahore :).
