So I need a little advice.

I am gathering my paper work to prepare for our interview. Our case left NVC on the 22nd of Sept. Janna will be leaving to go back to Russia on the 9th of Oct. I didn't think that we were going to get approved so fast and get through the NVC as fast as we did. How long do you have to respond when the embassy sends the package to the beneficiary? Should we call the embassy? I noticed that there is an expiration date on the NoA2 receipt.

Also, on the affidavit of support (I-134) I relocated from NY to SC and started working as a server in a restaurant while I've gone through A LOT of red tape to transfer my professional license to SC. The point being, I just graduated from school not too long ago so my tax returns are below the requirement and right now my wages working as a server are not too much either. My mother has agreed to co-sponsor Janna. My concern is that my mother makes well over the required income, has assets, etc... But, she just changed jobs and has taken a lower salary (Still over the poverty % requirement) Will my mothers job change be an issue to the consul?

And, When I do have my professional license in SC, and making normal money again, can I transfer the Affidavit of Support to myself?

I know that's a lot of questions. Thanks for reading.

Before the expiration date on the NOA2.

To my understanding, No.

You don't actually need to respond to the packet. You just have to show up for the interview at this point. Your interview date won't be before Oct. 9, so I don't think you'll have a problem. Even if you don't receive the packet, she'll be fine as long as she shows up for the interview with the required documents (none of which require the packet as long as you have internet access and a printer).

Go over the list of documents though. Some of them take some time (the police certificate, for example).

You can't transfer the affidavit of support, but when you do AOS, you can file the I-865, which is the long-term commitment.
