Hi,

I have read that you should have a cover letter for the I-485. I haven't found an example of one yet. Is there an example somewhere?

Thanks

You don't need one and there are members on here who sent their AOS docs in w/out a cover letter and succeeded in obtaining the green card. If you want to include a cover letter, just include a piece of paper that lists the contents of the packet.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

VJ suggests including one, it helps make your application look organized, and helps you see as well if there's anything you missed...

it simply is a table of contents of what you have included in your application, in order of requirement

and helps prevent an RFE (because they can't easily say you didn't submit something
