I am filing for my AOS and I am a F-1 visa holder married to a US citizen. We are filing all the forms(I-130.I-131,I-485, G-325, I-864 and I-765). My question is do I need to send in a medical examination at the start along with these AOS forms or am I supposed to do it after USCIS notifies me?

If anyone has any info on this I will appreciate it.

Thx

Ideally you should send it in when you send the original documents. I did not fully understand that myself, and we got and RFE but it only held us up a week at the most. I would suggest you send it with your package, and save yourself a week!

U need to sent the medical examination report with the original package, since every immigrant HAS to go through it. If you don't send it in, USCIS will send you an RFE requesting it, and that would delay your application a bit. When you get the medical exam report from civil sergeon, do not open it!That's what you put in your AOS package. The civil sergeon will also give you a copy of the report for your personal records, so you save it.

Just to clarify - the biometrics exam isn't the same thing as the immigration medical. You do need to have an immigration medical from a Civil Surgeon and you submit the medical report with the AOS application. You will then receive a receipt for the application (known as an NOA). Shortly afterwards you will receive another letter called the ASC appointment letter. The letter is for your biometrics appointment - that means you go on the date listed to the address listed and they take your photograph and your fingerprints. Biometrics is actually one of the easiest steps in this whole process.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
