Good day VJ'ers,

:dance:My wife received our NOA-2 on Sept.27,2009.

But our attorney said as of now, I don't need to get those PCC and NBI clearances for it's still early and they might get expired.

How many days from your completion at the USCIS to the NVC until you receive the packet from NVC? Do I have to listen to our Lawyer?

Ours took 9 days (from USCIS to receipt of NVC), then almost 3 weeks before they generated the DS3032 and AOS bill because that's the only time when we gave them our email addresses. That's because we were not notified by USCIS that our petition was approved and their site is so unreliable..see my timeline. After sending the completed DS-3032, I started compiling my documents here in QC, Manila (NBI, police clearance, marriage and birth certificates) so I can send them right away when they accept my DS3032. I don't think PCC and NBI will be expired when they ask to send them. Well, I hope not. Goodluck to us.

I've been told the NBI clearance is good for at least 6 months. I'd advise getting it it soon. My wife has had to wait a couple of weeks for hers due to the fact that someone with the same first and maiden name (but a different original middle name) has a criminal record. Apparently when that happens, they have to do some additional processing. For the same reason, she also had to get her clearance from the regional office in Cebu, rather than one of the smaller offices.

yes, same thing happened to me..i will have to go and get my clearance tomorrow after 2 weeks because my name was HIT!!!! i was hit in 2003, then in 2007 and now 2009..i think they don't delete records even if you're already cleared..and that's really frustrating!
