This has always been a issue, does it slow or cause problems not sure. My opinion is dont talk of it, our (other halves) had a life before us and they should be able to take care of themselves, to many have been used for this (making life easier) so be careful. Alot of time at interviews this question will be asked

Sending money would not impact petition approval but I would not offer evidence of such at a visa interview or with petition filing. It doesn't help and CAN hurt in the evaluation of the relationship bona fides. If asked, of course be honest.

In Thailand love IS money (lots of Asian countries are this way). because of the crappy wages and my wanting her to take English and driving lessons, I had her stop working and supoorted her also supplementing her family (in thsi case they were very poor).

We were asked about "support" and we supplied a couple years worth of receipts. First western union, then Ikobo then Schwab atm (most expensive to free sending money, in that order)

Sending support for our case made it stronger and showed we weren't messing around. Also took pictures and receipts for the gold (dowry) and engagement ring. It's not a big deal unless the money is coming the other way but if you've got it all on the up and up, I wouldn't worry about anything. The new laws make it difficult for a bonafide relationship with emails, phone calls, pictures to be rejected. Money is a part of any relationship. given my lifestyle and my luxuries, it's the least I could do to share it. For me, that's far better than donating money to a church because I know these people and I was marrying one!

I would think that if a certain amount that doesnt appear excessive is sent and a trend is establshed that in itself wouldnt cause alarm. It does show intent of support and adds to proof of an ongoing relationship. If thats it - get an immi attorney and sue the bastards! Many of us help out our sweethearts. For example in PI my fiance is trying to complete some paperwork with the NSO and DFA. Her employer didnt want her to take days off to do this so she left. Of course I'm going to help her during these times when she is trying to help in our common goal! call them find out...good luck
