Hi everyone,

I had a question. My husband arrived on Sept 3rd, and has not yet received his SS card. I know that we checked the box on the form, for them to send one to him. It's almost been 4 weeks. Should we just go to the SS office and apply in person? We also haven't received any letter yet, stating that his green card will be issused. I'm guessing that takes awhile longer, but I was wondering how long that would take.

Thanks

You can go get his SSN if you don't want to wait anymore. It would be faster.

I received my GC approximately three weeks after the entry to the US.

I hope he will get his soon!

Just be a bit more patient. I know it's hard, but after he arrived there was the long holiday weekend when a federal workday was lost.

Go to your local SSA office and apply for the SSN, My parents arrived on Aug 7th and they never recieved their SSN in the mail, we waited four weeks and then went to the SSA and we were told we should have come as soon as the three weeks had passed. The y got their SSN six days later.
