When booking the airline ticket does it have to be a one way or can it be a round trip? He wouldn't use the return flight though! But a one way ticket is like double in price! But I don't want customs giving him a hard time about it when he comes! Thank you for any info!

I believe it's fine.

I read in other topics that alot of people can get round trip tickets alot cheaper than one ways.

If it gets brought up, just explain it was cheaper.

I'm sure they'd accept it.

Well I myself got a one way ticket coz it's cheaper for me.... you can just get whichever that is cheaper. the USCIS do not require you to have just 1 way or a return ticket. it's up to you. they will not question you about it, thats what i've learnt from VJ :)

be sure you get a round trip from there to here not here to there. If they don't use the first half the second half is no good

 Exactly right. The airline will cancel the return journey if the outbound leg is not flown.

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Doesn't matter. Buy what is cheapest. If you buy a round trip MAKE SURE the flight originates in France, you can throw out the return ticket.

If you do book a round trip ticket, check with the airline if they impose any penalties for no-shows and how soon you have to inform them in advance that your husband will be giving up his seat.

Yeah i really wouldn’t worry about it, immigration aren’t going to. At the end of the day your quite entitled to use a return ticket if for some reason you wanted to :bonk: you'd just lose your visa.

But "Marriedtomrq" made a good point if you were to buy a return ticket i personally would inform the airline after landing that you wont be using the return flight or check before hand if they will charge you for not using it. This process is expensive enough without a little sting like that.

Are there any airlines that actually charge extra for no-shows? If you don't show up for the return leg, your reservations are cancelled and you'll likely lose the value of the return ticket—but if a one-way ticket cost more, then you haven't really lost anything. I'm not aware of any airlines charging again for not showing up.

I'm planning on doing the same thing for my fiance. How Delta charges 717 for round trip from Buenos Aires to ATL, and 1,670 for one-way is beyond my realm of understanding. As for fees or penalties, I've bought a handful of round trip tickets from different airlies and wasted the return ticket without notifiing anyone, and I havn't been penalized yet.

06/??/2008 - met one night in Madrid

09/23/2008 - moved to Buenos Aires together

06/15/2009 - he PROPOSED

06/24/2009 - mailed I-129F packet to Vermont

06/26/2009 - when the USCIS recieved my package (and cashed the check!)

07/03/2009 - NOA1 in the mail

09/21/2009 - NOA2 text recieved/online case status updated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

09/23/2009 - Case recieved by NVC

09/25/2009 - Case sent to Buenos Aires consulate

10/08/2009 - Packet 3 E-mail from consulate

10/15/2009 - Returned packet 3

10/16/2009 - Medical exam; at doc's insistence, sent copies of sealed envelope

Really?? I'm surprised airlines care...they're makin' their money, why would the cancel return flight if you don't board the outbound flight?? :P I can see for purposes of security, but what if we informed them ahead of time that they wouldn't be able to make the outbound flight??
