1) Finally I was compelled to do something I was trying to avoid. Today I sent out letters to my Senator and Congressman. I just filled out the standard forms and attached a copy of the pending I-485 alongwith an approved NOA-2 for I-130. Should I have sent out a detailed covering letter or a brief narration of the problem was enough. Requested an inquiry regarding a delay in my I-485 interview decision which has been pending for almost 70 days now.

2) How often can I schedule an infopass? Does it have to be 30 days/60 days or I can keep inquiring every few weeks?

Come On! Anybody?

For #1... Not sure what the question is... If you are asking if you should include a letter explaing what you wish the congressman to do... then yes, of course you should include a letter detailing what your situation is and ask for their help...

For #2, as far as I understand, you can make your infopass appointments, but if there is no new information or movement, I am not sure what they will tell you other than to check back in xxxx days or weeks or to keep calling???

You might want to check with others in the forums for others going through AP in Pakistan... There are threads where someone who is going through that can perhaps give you detailed information on your consulate.

What I meant to ask was that Senate or Congressional Inquiry have a Standard Form that you send to your relative Senator/Congressman where there is a para' where you briefly describe your problem. Thats all that I send. Didn't wanna sound tooooo whiny! I hope that was enough and a covering letter wasn't necessary. In my case, Its not that complicated. I just want to know why my case is being delayed deliberately.

hey saspakbhai,

i have some question why don't you make info pass for manhattan office instead of garden city. i think they are the authority in new york. have you been to city office ever. i think this time try that.

Yes Richa, it might help. But from what I have heard from people, NYC field office is the most dreaded office in the Whole of USA and extremely busy too. If anything, I would be kept waiting for hours and then scolded for even daring to approach the mighty USCIS, and held responsible for judging their method of working. :)
