Best way to track your case?

I'm wondering how people are getting emails from USCIS? If you sign up on their website, do they send you emails or is there some other way to get emails from them? Also, if you have AOS and EAD do you have to sign up to track them separately or is it all tied together? Thanks

Hello tglea, I have received email messages from uscis. However, you will have to create an account at www.uscis.gov in order to receive messages. Under your portfolio you will have the ability to enter your case numbers and specify if you would like to get notified by email and/or text messaging.

Well I think I figured it out. I know I can do all of this through the website but I'm having problems adding cases. It's telling me that the receipt number does not exist. Anyone else have this problem? Perhaps it's too soon since I just received the NOA yesterday.

hmm put your receipt number in that was on your NOA's, i'm not sure if they all start the same but mine were MSC then a bunch of numbers hope this helps

When I attempted to add the MSC number found on the back of the cashed check image I got from my bank website, it stated the number was invalid. I had to wait to receive the NOA's for AOS/EAD/AP which were all quite close in a series a single digit higher than the cashed check number.

For example:

Cashed check: MSC0024952125

AOS NOA: MSC0024952126

EAD NOA: MSC0024952127

AP NOA: MSC0024952128

I'm not having any luck so far. All three of the numbers that I have tried to add to my portfolio to track don't work yet. I've tried the numbers from both of our NOAs for AOS and the one from the EAD NOA. They all tell me that they are invalid. They all start with MSC so I'm sure i'm using the right numbers.

You probably are using the right numbers tglea.

Greencard usually will not be available until a week or 2 after your Biometrics are taken.

EAD/AP will no doubt never appear. Unless you get lucky.
