Is everyone planning to attend the interview with thier spouse? As much as I would love to see London with David, I am not sure we can afford for both of us to make the journey. I am concerned that it will not go as smoothly if we are not both there and of course I want to be there for moral support. So I am curious to hear how everyone else is handling it as we are getting closer to the end of this process.

I'm going to my hubby's interview-it'll be in Italy and I've never been there (besides the Rome airport!). But since we're getting closer to Xmas, we're a bit anxious. We're supposed to go to Finland for Xmas and can't book the tickets until we hear about the interview. This is crazy!!! I can't imagine taking two trips to Europe in a month...but hopefully my ticket to Italy will be FF miles!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

congrats philmae

kaushalia,

I notice that you FedEx your PCC to NVC. Did you receive an RFE for PCC or you just sent it? As for me, I just received the PCC from my spouse and hold it for now until NVC request for it. Sending it right now might delay the case so I'm waiting for the RFE to generate.

I called them last week and they told me the RFE was coming, so I had my husband get on it. by the time he received it, I had the official checklist. so i was able to attach it with it. india requires 2 pcc's.

Thanks, kaushalia. I guess I better call them too.

Naples is pretty crazy (generally)... Like any city, watch your wallet, purse etc... Hubby stayed near the waterfront (by the embassy) and said that area is relatively safe... Good food... But you will have to spend a bit on Taxi's as the medical is a ways away from the Embassy and the Mailbox's etc... is far from the embassy too?? (not sure how they arranged that???) Hopefully the two trips can be combined into one... For sure it will be a lot warmer in Naples than Finland!!!

Ok, I just called NVC at a minute ago and they said they just about to send me RFE for PCC today (11/04/09). I hope they emailed to me soon so that I can send them the PCC.

kaushalia? After you call NVC and they said you have an RFE coming your way. How long did you get the RFE email?

Thanks, kaushalia! I figured that too as you can see my signature page timeline log. According to my timeline log, email was sent on 10/24/09 and received on 10/28/09. Damn, I can't believe it takes that long to send out an email. I guess I have to wait for that email to coming.

Thanks again, kaushalia.

You're here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah. I pop in once in a while. I mostly lurk. I am still totally immersed in my project and will probably be so through the rest of the year.... Starting to get partially finished, enough for testers to start in. Then there will be mopping up, bugs to fix, enhancements, etc, etc. And there are a couple of other related applications that will need to be re-done, tested, enhanced, etc, etc, etc. Needless to say, except for my week in Peru, I have been putting in 60+ hour weeks since the beginning of September. Now I have loads of comp time to take this month (or else, says my boss). Probably best that way, cause my apartment is looking pretty interesting these days :)

Thanks Christeen! I've heard only negative things about Naples, so I'm not expecting anything there! I'd like to hop down to Capri or somewhere romantic though! Anyway, it would be great if we had an interview near Xmas. I could just fly to Rome, he could meet me there, we hop on a train, then go back to Rome and fly to Helsinki! We probably won't get that lucky though...

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! I know the feeling! Work is totally crazy for me too-I'll probably work this weekend. We'd had a french exchange student at home so I'm trying not to work late, but she leaves this Friday. Glad you're getting the bugs to fix. Does everyone hear know you're an exterminator? haha! You sooo talk Greek to me...at least crazy jobs keep our mind off crazy immigration stuff! And get those dirty socks off your floor!!!!

I will be there but I can only wait in the waiting room according to the Bucharest Embassy.

I can't wait for them to ask her, "When was the last time you saw your husband?" And she replies with, "5 minutes ago. He's right outside."

Maybe after David sees that I am not the only one who feels they should be there he might decide it is worth it. Because we try and see each other fairly frequently we have burned through all of our savings and all of my credit just being together. I am a terrified flier and every time one of us is alone on a plane I worry that we may never see each other again. It's like we are tempting fate. I feel slightly better when we fly together but I still hate it. I want to be there but if it will make no difference at all on the outcome, cause me to be unable to pay my bills (like the mortgage) and he cannot come back with me because he has to sell the house, then I am just not sure if I should still bother. This is tearing me up inside. I love my husband and want to be there for him but financially it makes no sense. I just dont know what to do.

Don't worry about it. I'm sure your husband will do fine on his own in the interview.

Hey guys, for the AOS package: the tax stuff, does it have to be the originals? Or photocopies with signatures in blue in enough?

you are welcome! good luck

i found out on thursday, and got the email monday morning.
