Cool, thanks! Dumb question, but does he have to specify what they test for (what vaccines he has the antibodies for) or is it just a generic test?

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Okay so, I got the letter of employment from my husband but...of course, it does not include his income thus far but it does have his name, start date, when he got deployed, when he'll be back and there is a letter for them to call if NVC needs to. (I heard they do.) So for income, we're just going to send the past 6 months of pay stubs, and yeah, it should be fine. XD

But if anyone has any suggestions, please voice them! Thanks

I read somewhere recently that the income should be in the letter, but I have no idea where I read that. Hopefully someone can jump in and give a better answer! I've been waiting to get my employment letter. Is this something I should do now, or wait until I'm ready to send it (so the date is current)?

Thanks Mal and Redmen!!!!! He'll call a doc about it.

The letter I got from the HR at my job doesn't have the income on there, just that I do work full time and how long I have been there and that I am in good standing with the corporation.

I figured having the pay stubs should be enough and the IRS transcripts for the past 3 years. I hope!!!

I'm thinking it should be fine as long as you can prove you make over the 125% poverty line or 100% for military. As long as you can prove it somehow. I called NVC and a fellow said, pay stubs should be fine since not everyone sends in a letter of employment being that it is NOT a requirement, it just helps.

EDIT: As well, if you send a letter of employment, make sure it has the company letterhead. Mine says Department of the Army...followed by Memorandum. I laughed out loud. :|

i think on james shortcuts, it says that income should be included on the employment letter, but i think different employers have different policies in giving letters of employment, i think paystubs will take care of it

Bern you don't need all 6 months of the stubs (you can send most recent like last four) according to NVC unless there has been a change in his income they want the most recent W2,1040 and you can include tax transcripts for the past three years the stubs are just proof that he is currently working it will not have a major effect on the AOS as the W2 1040 and the transcripts will.

That should be fine, I would think. I asked my HR department for a letter, then "suggested" what it should say and they just took what I wrote and put it on their letterhead, signed it, scanned it and sent it to me. I used the suggested letter that was on one of the shortcuts so my salary is listed on it, but to me its just duplicating the info that is on your pay stubs.

Employers are not required to provide salary information on the letter of employment, just information on job title and how long you have been employed at various positions. Your pay records are your responsibility to provide via copies of your paycheck stubs. I had an employee in my department who was dealing with immigrating his South Korean wife here about a year ago. He didn't have his paycheck stubs saved, and he (well, his wife, mainly) was insisting that the company was responsible for providing that information. Human Resources declined to provide that information for him. I got a letter of employment for our I-864, but there is no pay information on it, just my job title and how long I've worked for the company. The burden of proof of income is on the petitioner to provide paycheck stubs and tax records.

It takes 8 months for us to see each other back again since we started our visa process, and now here we are reunited back again and happy together.
