So I've made the jump from July filers to October NVC :) We got our hardcopy approval on Monday, but as it's acually dated 23rd September we're going to give NVC a call on Friday. We've had all our documents a while, the only exception being my police certificate, so I hope to send that off in the next day or two - it's already filled etc but I need someone to verify those damn photos and I don't know why but that's always so hard

I'm hoping that we follow others' quick journey through this stage, but what I'm worried about is the three month wait at London for the interview. Three months doing nothing (well apart from the medical, and I'm realllllly looking forward to that

Hey Treehugger! I got my hardcopy yesterday in the mail, both the I-130 and the I-129f approval and they are dated for the 23rd of September too!!! I have been calling the AVR but they haven't updated it yet. I can't decide if I should call and speak to an operator or not!! I would hate to talk to a live person and them tell me that it hasn't arrived yet!!!

Let me know what you end up doing!!

Also, I have a question to post out there....On the approvals above the beneficiary's (husband's) name, there is a number above it. Is this the A number they ask for on the I-864 form???? It's A### ### ###

What do you all think????:blink:

The A# is is Alien registration number, and you will need that number for a form to NVC. I think that is related to the I-129F approval, I believe mine was for my hubby.

Bet wishes and congrats on the 2 NOA 2.

Beth

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Thanks Beth!! I thought that was the number but I wasn't for sure. It is on both the I-130 approval and the I-129f. I am still debating to see which path to take, but I am leaning more towards the CR1 visa. Does either one have more touble with being put in AP or AR? Anyone know?

Thanks again!!

Sweets, stick with the CR1, dont follow the K3. And yes AP is possible with CR1 after the interview, you know how Cairo is. Im sure you've seen the post, and probley read about Betsy husband getting AP thank God he is out and coming home Oct 14th.

The K3 could get AP at the NVC as it did for us, 37 days stuck in AP hell. The CR1 is the better visa, and you can get thru NVC quickly, just be prepared, I managed it in 28 days! We are all here to help each other. Have a lovely day!!! :)

With going with the CR1, do I notify someone about dropping the K3 route? I've read where some people say to just ignore any dealings with the K3, that seems to be alot of unnecessary work that the NVC or embassy will be doing for me to ignore. Anyone???

Ignore any transactions to you on the K3. NVC only has it long enought to slap a NVC number on it and forward to embassy, embassy mails out Packert 3 and does NO more till they hear from beneficiary, time wasted, 3 mintues.

from all the threads i have seen, they say to ignore. but if your cr1 is complete before your k3 interview is scheduled, some people have been able to flip the interviews and have the cr1 interview instead. i think paris is trying to do it. but i have seen other threads that people have done it. it is a 50/50, and the worst they can do is say no, you have to wait

Hi All:

I got my email approval for NOA2 on the Sept. 25th. Since then, I noticed, it was touched on the 27th, and then on the 28th. I am just assuming this is all the scanning of my application before they send it to NVC. I have yet to receive my hardcopy, but since I am in the DC area, and our stuff was processed in California, I am hoping I get the hardcopy by the end of this week.

Has anyone else had this kind of thing? Touched after you received your email notification? Just wondering.

I am also dreading the NVC stage because it seems like everythings being backlogged there.

I was touched on 9/27 (but that's when I got the text and email about my 9/25 approval) and again on 9/28. I also assumed that was the day they sent it on to NVC. I'm sure they had fun with that with my 7 lb. binders! I think NVC will drag on...but I'm fine with that right now, because my hubby doesn't have all his docs yet! He also can't find his vaccination records. I emailed the embassy and they told me not to have him get shots beforehand-just have their doctor determine which ones he'll need again. OUCH! Poor guy...

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Welcome! You can check your case status with the NVC number without talking to a real person-it's easier that way. You just need your UCSIS number. Call late at night! They probably just have to say 90 days...it's been taking everyone about two weeks right now.

Your regular doctor can do it - I wouldn't wait as it can take up to 2 weeks to have processed. It's a lot easier to figure out than worry about finding vaccination records.
