Congrats to everyone getting case completes!!! To all those waiting... Good luck!

As far as the AVR, when the system is overloaded it goes directly to the operators, that is why when you slect the AVR (1) it automacially routes you to a person...

So I just celled the NVC. The AVR said that a packet of info and documents was generated yesterday and will be sent in the next few weeks.... so I talk to an operator. No packets should be coming in, I just paid the IV bill and sent in the DS-230! She said she doesn't know why the AVR says that, because if you pay online its all right there for you to download and they don't send you a packet. :bonk: I really wonder about them sometimes....

But on the bright side, she said they received a package in today and since I emailed the 230 last night, and I know they are not up to date, that must be the AOS package that I sent on 10/9. So it took 18 days to accept that. So if that is the case and it takes another 18 days to accept the DS-230, that should be accepted right around by birthday and before my Dominican trip! C'mon NVC, give me a case complete before I go so I can have something else to celebrate!:dance:

Actually, not to give you false hope or anything, but I'd be more inclined to believe the package they received today was indeed your DS-230. That doesn't mean to say they've DONE anything with it yet, but I would venture to guess that they've at least registered its existence. I don't think the NVCMontreal email address is used for anything other than Electronic Processing.

It's all conjecture on my part, of course, so I could be wrong.

But I hope not. ;)

hi andrea, from what i understand, you send the copies so the originals will be given back to your husband at the embassy.

has anyone been able to listen to the avr? as of last night, i cannot even talk to an operator.

Thanks Kathy! Now that makes sense!!

I tried to call the AVR last night a few times. I actually got through but it kept saying that it was extremely busy and a 5 minute wait time. I stayed on the line for over 10 minutes and never got the AVR or an operator. I just thought it was super busy. That is when I went ahead and paid the IV bill

The AVR doesn't seem to be working. I tried it this morning which would be the middle of the night there and it said if I wasn't prepared to use the AVR I had to hang up and call back later. It then gave the message in Spanish and then cut me off. I tried 3 times with the same result. I just tried again and it says there is a long wait for an operator. No mention of the AVR. Maybe we've used it so much we broke it! :bonk:

Exactly the same thing happen to me.

Hi everyone! My IV bill is showing as paid! It's still pending at my bank. Unfortunately I didn't bring all the documents to work today so I have to fedex it tomorrow...

Reading the instructions, my hubby should have worn his glasses in his photographs. He didn't. I'm going to assume this won't be an issue...or else I'll sit on his glasses right before the interview!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

I think it's ok, Finn. Everything is all set with you. I think most of May filers will be finishing paying their IV fee sometime this week. So far our trailing have been very smooth. Good luck to us all for the case complete.

I left work, went home, got all the docs, and am now back at work trying to get them together to fedex the 230 packet before 5:15PM! I have 1 1/2 hours...

Question-Do I put my hubby's photos in a plastic bag again? I forgot to grab a sandwich bag but found a recycled one at work in our kitchen. ha!

I'm sending his: 230, birth cert, marriage cert, military record/translation, passport biographic copy, police certs and two photographs.

Am I missing anything? I hate being in a time crunch!!!!
