you do need the doc cover sheet which has the barcode on it.

I called the NVC and asked if it was OK to pay it since I got tired of waiting. Then I got the email the next day but the attachments were dated for the day I paid it. Since the link won't work for the documents and further instructions, I'm now going to see if I can print a barcode for the DS-230.....

Does anyone know if there is a barcode needed for the DS-230???? I can't stand that this link isn't working!!!!! GRRRRRRR

Give Generously, Live Fully, Laugh Often, Love Completely...AND PRAY ALWAYS!!!

He is home!!!

I just called NVC and actually talked to a live person! Wow! Anyway, I told him about how I got too excited and paid my IV bill before receiving the email. He laughed and said it was no big deal, and to call them by Friday if it doesn't show as paid. Not sure if I buy his story, but I'm going to chill out and not worry about this anymore! It's out of my control...

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

I just assumed that there needed to be a bar code on the DS-230 itself, but I just called the NVC and they said no. I'm so impatient and totally doubting everything these days! The instructions link didn't work, but I've read the guide enough to know what to do, I was just unsure of the barcode thing. Now I have it and am good to go! Just need to fix one answer on the form, then can have the hubby sign it tonight when I get home, then everything can go!

I wonder though, since I am electronically filing with Montreal if it matters when he shows up for his interview if his picture is not the same as the one I scan and send with this package... See... second guessing!!!! LOL

Ooh, I hope not! My hubby fedexed his 230 and paperwork to me a week ago. At this point if it needs a bar code, I'll be the one filling out the first page! He was so frustrated filling that form out since he couldn't save it. I don't know why they can't fix those forms!

:wow: can't we all just get along? sounds like the tensions are high. we are all in the same boat together. no need for bickering, especially in the upper forums. cap'n ewok has specifically said to leave those to the off topic discussions.

I dont know what uppe forums means.

Read my post. I was not bickering. I had been replying to my husband and got told off. he then came to my defense. I've never had a problem with anyone. ERead anything I have ever posted.

"upper forums" refers to anything discussed under any other headlines than the "general discussion area". that includes this forum which is classified under "Family & Marriage Based Immigration (K1, K2, IR1, etc) to the USA". to get a complete list of what classifies as "upper forums", you can refer to the "Forum" menu at the top of this page.

Thanks for clarifying as I had no clue what you meant. I do not believe I said anything innappropriate for this forum. This one and July and Aug filers are really the only ones I read. I was thinking no one wanted us here anymore but as I read other comments I see that is not the case (thanks Abbie, Finn, Mark,And Sam, Mary, bequillera etc etc ) and I refuse to let one rotten apple spoil the bunch. I blocked the one who doesnt like me and now we wont need to deal with each other. Life is too short to waste.

We all need to help each other through this mess! I try and be helpful and I find you guys terrific support too.

Ok now a question for those of you a few weeks ahead of me. How long did it take between paying te $70 AOS and getting an email asking for the $400 and the forms from spouse? I sent in my AOS packet and paid my $70 but the $400 still says not invoiced.

What happens if we wait for Interview date to schedule the medical and there are no appointments left between then and the Interview? I am not nervous that he has not had the medical I am a wreck because he has not even scheduled it.

Oh and Finn looks like you worried for nothing! Glad it is working out in your favour. :)

and for those of you on Sheka watch she was on August earlier and is doing well. I think all the prayers and positive energy must be helping !!:star:

I'm glad I dont really have to leave. This is hard enough without going it alone.

I mailed ours and confirmed everything was recieved but so far no email or snail mail from NVC. I really hope they take a peek and get back to us soon.

AVR is the wonderful automated voice response system that you get when you call NVC...

To And_Sam... Were you invoiced for the $$ in the sytem? If so, call NVC and clarify why you have not gotten the notification... But do not just go and pay things if they have not been invoiced... Like paying an electric bill before the house is built!!

David's Girl-thanks for not leaving! I was going to PM you and the Scot to tell you to please stay! I look forward so much to your posts and your hubby's. They're so fun! And I'm all about fun!

The AVR is the automated voice response? I think that's what the R stands for. Automated Voice Ridiculous? Anyway, it's the system on the NVC phone number in which you don't have to talk to a live wire.

About your other question regarding the $400 fee and AOS, I have to check my timeline and can't do it when I'm typing in this little box! I haven't received my email about the $400, but the bill came available this past Saturday. I'll get back to you on this one!
