Wow, I'm just catching up this morning. First of all, humor is a huge part of my life. I come from a family of funny people. I try to be funny in my job when I'm able to (and not piss anyone off!). There's no problem with humor here in this thread. I still didn't see the Scot's cheerleader comment, but I know the Scot is one funny Scot! Humor heals people. That's a known fact, and I've seen it firsthand. I think humor can help us get through immigration hell.

So everyone, keep on being funny! And no mean comments towards my VJ friends...

If Ms. Sheka popped in here, she'd be appalled.

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Don't worry. If you have the PAID receipt I suspect it might take 24 hours for your bank to process.

Now kids: For the last time, do I864/As have to be NOTARIZED? Please, someone put me out of my misery.

YES I HAVE ONLINE THATS WHERE IM LOOKING AND ITS NOT PENDING BUT PAYMENT CENTER SHOWS PAID .I WAS JUST WONDERING IF THAT HAPPENED TO ANYONE

You sent your payment in without getting the invoice in the email, right? I made that same mistake on Sat. Maybe that's what's going on-except I thought it was usually backwards and the bank would show the payment going thru and the NVC wouldn't...give it a couple of more days.

David's Girl-don't you dare go away! I look forward to your comments and the Scot's!!!!!

:wow: can't we all just get along? sounds like the tensions are high. we are all in the same boat together. no need for bickering, especially in the upper forums. cap'n ewok has specifically said to leave those to the off topic discussions.

I dont know what uppe forums means.

Read my post. I was not bickering. I had been replying to my husband and got told off. he then came to my defense. I've never had a problem with anyone. ERead anything I have ever posted.

"upper forums" refers to anything discussed under any other headlines than the "general discussion area". that includes this forum which is classified under "Family & Marriage Based Immigration (K1, K2, IR1, etc) to the USA". to get a complete list of what classifies as "upper forums", you can refer to the "Forum" menu at the top of this page.

Give Generously, Live Fully, Laugh Often, Love Completely...AND PRAY ALWAYS!!!

Thank you Finn. As you appreciate my humour I will repeat it just for you!

I'm watching the NFL match between the New England Patriots (my new team!) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Wembley Stadium in London. I never had any interest in all this weird American stuff before but it is now really important to me. It keeps me in touch with my new country and it's traditions and way of life. I have total interest in the football and the incredibly hot cheerleaders have nothing to do with it!

I know this has nothing to do with immigration but I wanted to share my interest in all things American.

Oh and btw the Patriots won 35-7!

Just wanted to let you know I paid my IV bill when it showed up to be paid on the same invoice as the AOS, that was on the 22nd, then on Sat. the next day I did get the new invoice number as my payment was taken out of my bank and yesterday it showed paid with the new invoice number and was able to print off the cover letter. It all linked itself together.
