Today AVR states that 3032 rec'd but to allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing. What does this mean with respect to what you guys report? Where am I in relation to others on this thread? What can I reasonably expect (since 4 to 6 weeks seems unreasonable to me)?

Mark :)

Hi Mark, I got the same recorded message in regards to our case yesterday. I can track the packages and know they have our choice of agent and finacial packages. They say they prefer email but they sure do not respond in a timely manner. I provided our email addresses the first week in OCtober and recieved snail mail but still no email. David has yet to get the letter they supposedly sent weeks ago but UK has a postal strike so that may explain that bit. I sure hope we are not both waiting a month for someone to open an envelope!

Well, don't ask me...I'm the VJ Dork of the Day.

What does it show on the DOS website? Is the bill available? DON'T DO IT!!!!

And how did you get on the same timeline as me??!!!

Actually, I'm pretty sure it means you can pay it as soon as you get the email-which should be within two days???

I am praying for that email!

If I had not read all the posts about it I would have paid as soon as it was available too. It does say not to on the fee payment page though. Anyone here can understand your excitement. We all want to move to next step. Can you call Monday and sort it out?

Is it me or is the website to create a barcode down? :(

We never ended up needing it coa they mailed me a form and I cut it out and pasted it onto the one he signed and mailed it in and he emailed a scanned copy of same.

Yeah but I never got a reply. I think "snail mail" is quicker at the NVC!

I'm watching the NFL match between the New England Patriots (my new team!) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Wembley Stadium in London. I never had any interest in all this weird American stuff before but it is now really important to me. It keeps me in touch with my new country and it's traditions and way of life. I have total interest in the football and the incredibly hot cheerleaders have nothing to do with it!

But David's Girl, I've read all the posts about it and my mind just blanked out! I'll wake up earlier tomorrow before work and give them a call. I feel like I may have screwed myself out of a December interview. I don't want to tell my hubby how much of an idiot I was!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

You made an honest mistake. It might not hold anything up. He loves you. He won't think you are an idiot.

Thanks Scot! I just sent him an email (he's at work). I told him I made a bit of a screw-up. ha! I was actually feeling guilty by NOT telling him.

I'll try to straighten this out with NVC tomorrow. I'm sure anyone who doesn't have an attorney and isn't on NVC does the same thing, so they're probably used to it. I bank with Chase, and they're sooo slow and also wait 24 hours before any debits are processed. For once I may be glad about that!

You might be ok because of the weekend thing... However, this should serve for others that are waiting with every mouseclick to pay the bill... JUST IN CASE, DO NOT PAY IT THE MOMENT IT IS AVAILABLE... WAIT TILL YOU GET THE E-MAIL... It usually comes the next business morning after the bill becomes available....

Just monitor your bank accounts, NVC cannot do anything until the money has been taken from the account... They will tell you to wait like 5 days and call (but it will probably take like 3 for the money to be depositied)... The probem is not in them taking the money, it is that it does not trigger a "paid" since technically NVC did not bill you for it yet... Like pre-paying an electric bill before the electric is turned on....

I'm sending the Choice of Agent tomorrow. It's kind of weird just sending a page all alone. Did you guys send it in a folder or something? With all these packets that we have to make it just seems weird to me to send it all alone with no folder or anything.

Don't worry Mark, we are on the same path as you are. I have gotten the same recording from the AVR. My IV bill has shown available since last Thursday. I am giving it one more business day to get an email stating that it is available to be paid...This is driving me crazy to see it available and not paying it!!!!!!
