Do I remember this right? Are you also supposed to send a copy of the 230 package along with the original to the NVC? I should have kept a notebook from day one of my VJ journey next to the computer! I just can't keep it all straight in my head! Anyway, let me know...thanks!

If you want your documents back, then yes, you should send a copy... I missed that one when I sent my original package in...

All I can say is...OMFG. I just made the biggest mistake that I've read about over and over. In all my excitement, I didn't wait for the email before I sent the bill. I should have put a big sticky on my computer. #######! Can I retract it? I'm so pissed at myself! Well, maybe the good thing is it's Saturday and it won't hurt me? The email might come before Monday? I can't even believe I'm this stupid to do this after reading about it over and over. :bonk:

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

I'm seriously berating myself right now. I'm a dumba**. I did just check the AVR and my 3032 was received. Am I okay then in making the payment today? I doubt I can retract it...I've even told people to wait for notification before paying and look what I did...someone please tell me it's okay!!!

Well, they have been having some issues when you pay before the official notification, however, it is not guaranteed that it will cause issues. All you can do is monitor the website and your bank... Once it is taken out of your bank account, if, after 12 hours it is not reflected on the website, then you have to call NVC for a supervisor...

Hopefully you will not have any issues since it is the weekend... But it usually takes about 3 days for the payment to process... Just keep checking....

I'm just mad at myself-I totally knew this but my excitement and mushy brain (from all of this!) took over! I'm not even telling my hubby about this-he'll think I'm a big dork. And I was also forgetting that I need the cover sheet to send the 230, correct? And that's not generated until the bill is paid? I need to find your cool cheatsheet you always send out!

I'm seriously not this much of a space cadet in normal life.

Well guess what? I just thought I'd sign onto the Dept. of State website, not expecting a thing. My IV bill was ready to be paid! Yay! Of course, it's late on Sat afternoon so it won't even start being processed until Monday. And had I checked earlier, I would have fedexed the 230 package today. Darn! I'll send it off on Monday. I'm so excited! The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter...

You can't send the DS-230 package until the NVC site says that your payment status is PAID.

I know, I know..I apparently left my brain somewhere else in the house. I've already totally screwed up, and I've seen Christeen's messages about this over and over! Now I'm embarrassed...

Thanks Christeen! I guess I'm taking the role of the beneficiary by sending in everything and paying the IV bill! I wish I was more like my daughter-she doesn't worry about things out of her control...and I know I messed up by getting too excited by sending the payment, but there's nothing I can do about it now...

Okay that doesn't help me. ha! Time to find a good bottle of wine in the basement.

And Sam-does the AVR say your 3032 was accepted?

ok... since this seems to be catching a lot of people lately... I put a topic on the CR1/IR forum regarding this over-excited paymnent syndrome.... and no, the avr will say anything about this...

On the AOS where it asks for my annual income for this year, do I put the total as of my latest pay stub or estimate for what I will make the whole year? My company will not put an estimate for the whole year on my employment letter.

Thanks Christeen! Hopefully no one who knows better will get over-excited like me...this whole process is making me crazy!!! Well, not literally but I'm sure you all know what I mean. You just can't think straight sometimes. Or maybe it's just me. ha! Anyway, I'm just hoping that because I made this mistake on a Saturday afternoon, it won't screw me up. I just wonder how anyone not on VJ can even do this process alone!!!!

thanks, gundas. we submitted his local pcc. i didn't think to write on there about getting the passport pcc. hopefully a phone call will resolve the issue if i can explain that he will get it in time for the interview. or better yet, the question not come up at all

thank you christeen :) so if no rfe's then maybe we can get a case complete soon. secretly worried about the pcc. seems like there have been a lot of issues with indian pcc's. i submitted one, just hope it is sufficient.

I only submitted one PCC (the distrcit PCC or known as the local PCC). On the cover letter I stated that the Regional PCC (Passport PCC) will be submitted at time of interview because they dont provide it without interview letter. Hope that helps....

OK... Well hopefully that will suffice them... Luckily, my husband has only legally lived in the same town all of his life... One PCC

For India there is 2 PCCs no matter if the person has stayed in one town all their lives. My wife has lived in the same place since birth but she had to get 2 PCCs.

the best thing to remember is that the worst they can do is issue an rfe requesting the doc cover sheet. the operators will tell you that they do not deny cases, they just make sure everything is in order so they can forward to the embassy. did you put a regular cover letter that will include your nvc case number, etc?

Thanks Christeen! Hopefully no one who knows better will get over-excited like me...this whole process is making me crazy!!! Well, not literally but I'm sure you all know what I mean. We put projected income for 2009. If you make the same amount monthly, use that knowledge to find out your annual income.

Don't worry Finn. The worst thing that can happen is that they reject your payment and then you have to pay again a few days later. And by reject payment, I mean, they won't take money from you twice
