You're going to lose that battle 2USA! We're friends here. And friends chat. And please take your caps off. There are no set rules here.

PS Ms Sheka, I love your threads!

I agree with Finn and would like to add that most of this process is extremely frustrating and we are all here to support and help each other and pick each other up when we are down, much like a family would do. We are simply a family all going through the same thing.

2USA, if you have a question, we will gladly answer it for you. However, if you are here to bash one of our family, then you may want to go elsewhere. I don't think that is tolerated here.

2USA, if you have some gripes and complaints, utilize the moderators. if you want to contribute to the discussion, it is fine. but it does not look like your name is Captain Ewok, therefore, you have no authority to set rules of VJ or its threads, troll.

I am not setting anyrules. All I am trying to say is keep our chat minimum so everyone can find infomation easily. Friends can start chatting in another CHAT thread.

Well 2USA, when I need to find specific answers to questions I have, I use the search section that is top of every page, that really does help. Then if I have more personal questions I post it in the threads where my friends and cohorts who are going through the same challenges or been through them with good advice to share. Hence all the chatting...it is much easier to go through this journey with friends than alone.

If you have any questions please do post along with us, we may beable to help or at least offer an ear to listen!

Good luck!!

~Andrea

Congrats Kathy!!! How did you find out that your case arrived at the NVC? I will wait to call too next week or this Friday if I can hold out that long!!!:whistle:

I have exact same question about finding a case at NYC. Now If we keep chat minimum, it will be very easy to find answer to this question.

Someone will answer this question and it will be right there, instead of browsing other 3-4 pages of chat.

2USA, my friends here have been so nice to you here (while I bite my tongue, oops, I mean fingers). You still have to mention the chat. As everyone told you, we are supportive friends and as they say, chat happens. ha! If you have a question, ask it. But you need to be respectful of this group. Also, please fill in your timeline so you can get answers to your questions. This thread isn't going to change for you. Enough said. Or typed. Ms. Sheka started this group, and she's the most positive person on VJ. We are protective here.

As far as I can tell, you have to call NVC to see if your case arrived. Apparently it's taking 2-3 weeks so that's why I'm waiting until next week to even call. I'll post a link in a second to the shortcut.

Here it is! http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut

Edited by FinnLove

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

thanks andrea

you have to call NVC and on their automated voice tells you when the case was received, and gives you the case number. when i found out the case number, i called back, and spoke with the operator. you have to have yours and the beneficiary's name and dob, then you can update your emails. they also verify your telephone number. hope that helps

now if they will just hurry up and let me send in the additional paperwork. i have had it sitting in my apartment since may!!!

Give Generously, Live Fully, Laugh Often, Love Completely...AND PRAY ALWAYS!!!

He is home!!!

And that is 100% correct. I received my NOA2 in the mail on 9/18 (approved 9/11) and finally got my case number last night when I called. The AVR had no record, but then I hit 5 for an operator. My man Bill gave me my case number and took our e-mail addresses.

For the sake of research, I called the AVR again today, and my case info is on there. They then say to wait 6 - 8 for the Beneficiary to receive information... Yeah, don't think so!!!
