Hi everyone! I'm kind of enjoying a few days break between USCIS and NVC! My hubby's still waiting for two police clearances (he lived in three countries) and his Finnish military record-then he needs to send it all to me! I haven't received my hardcopy NOA2 yet. I guess I'll call NVC at the end of this week!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

NVC remains very busy, so the busy tones isn't unusual. Just keep trying.

I'm waiting for London to acknowledge my petition and send me packet 3. Hopefully very soon now

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

I have only called the automated voice response for the NVC so far. I haven't even gotten the hardcopy of the NOA2 yet so I am trying to be patient before calling and talking to a "live" operator :innocent:

Abbie call the NVC and talk to a live operator to give them yours and your husband's email address and they will send the stuff to you via email. That is what I am planning on doing.

My husband is in Cairo getting his police report and military certificate translated into english this week. I am not planning for him to send it to me. I will just get him to mail everything straight to the NVC from Egypt. The only thing I had him to sign and send to me was the form for me to be his agent to receive the billing. I got the form off of the link on here. I will put the case number on it when I get it.

Does this sound right to everyone?

~thanks!!!

That just confirms that I'm waiting until next week to call NVC! It would be a waste of time for me to call this week. Nothing's going to happen for me in the next two weeks!

2USA, if you have some gripes and complaints, utilize the moderators. if you want to contribute to the discussion, it is fine. but it does not look like your name is Captain Ewok, therefore, you have no authority to set rules of VJ or its threads, troll.

I am not setting anyrules. All I am trying to say is keep our chat minimum so everyone can find infomation easily. Friends can start chatting in another CHAT thread.
