Im assembling our I-864 and have a couple of questions, I've gone thru lots of post and all say different things.. thanks in advance to everyone!!!

1. What to write on TOP RIGHT CORNER of all pages of AOS packet? Pen or Pencil?

2. How to keep all the docs together? some say Acco, some say staples, paper clips, dont use acco..:blink:

3. I have no actual pay stubs, I use direct deposit. i can however print out a page from the company system that shows all the info that would show on my paycheck. would this be sufficient??

only 3.. hehehe.. thanks again!!! :star:

1. Write your NVC Case number in the upper right hand corner.. Pen or pencil, I don't think it matters as long as it is legible.

2. I'd say use a binder clip or a rubber band to keep everything together. My motto is don't waste money on something they are going to throw out, there are more important things to spend your money on, and since there is no specified requirement in the instructions, go cheap!

3. That is all I had. I don't get check stubs either, so I downloaded them from my companies site.

Good luck to you!

YAY.. thank you Red... :D

Quick question, on the I-864ez are just sending in the transcrips for the last 3 yrs good enough or do I need more, worked at same job for 6 years and above poverty guidelines. I know i need the cover letter and employment letter. Just wandering what others have done. Thank you!

Nope, 3 years are fine...

Christeen, you don't know how much we appreciate your knowledge of these things!!! It's great that when I have a question about something and luckily somebody asks and you answer!!! Thank you! Ok, one more question now  With having the IRS transcripts, do you still send in the W2s and 1099s too?

I collected all of this stuff and just wondering if I should mail it all in when they ask for it. I qualify for the 864ez too, but I have papers for my savings, checking, investments, etc... I don't need to submit that because of qualifying for 864ez?

Tax transcripts are enough. No need for W2's and 1099's.

As long as you qualify for I-864EZ, you dont need the saving, checking and investment stuff.

When you see that your AOS bill is PAID, print coversheet, and send in the required documents. Dont forget to write your NVC number on ALL the pages, and do a coversheet also. Best wishes.

Thanks Paris!!! That's exactly what I needed to know!!!

I think Paris addressed your question... If you qualify for EZ, you dont need to clog them with the savings, checking and other info... If you have your transcripts and they are above the 125%, then the 1099s, W2s etc... are not needed...

For anyone confused the formula is this

Petitioner = Get NVC # + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send 854 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page

Benificerary = Get NVC# + receive 3032 + send 3032+ 3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay and wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail 230 package with all original/certified documents

======= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled

Good luck to all!!!

Yes Paris did answer my questions! Between you and Paris I am feeling alot more confident that I will be ready to send all in!!

This formula you spelled out for us Christeen is perfect to follow too! That is what I was trying to figure out

I feel much more better getting answers and suggestions from somene who has been down the same road than to just rely on the gov't website. You can't ask questions and get quick responses back from them :thumbs:

I think you're right Christeen! The petitioner's divorce decree is sent with the I-130.

Hope you hear about Naples soon!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

ok, so i have already put together the ds230 package, and it seems so thin. i have included his original bc, our original mc, the ds 230 parts 1 and 2, his 2 passport photos, his police clearance, and copy of his passport. i know i will make a copy of everything. am i missing anything besides the doc cover sheet, and our own cover sheet? it just seems extra thin

Sounds good. Make sure you put the passport pics in a baggie so they wont get lost. Did you write your case number on all the pages?? Dont forget!!

Best wishes for a fast case completion!!
