Our I130 NOA2 was approved on Sept 24th. then we got an RFE for 129F. We haven't received the NVC case# for I130. Operator says it might take up to 90 days. Is it possible that NVC can hold back I130 until RFE is cleared on 129f ? its very depressing that NVC doesn't give any information about the file.

thanks

Quick question, on the I-864ez are just sending in the transcrips for the last 3 yrs good enough or do I need more, worked at same job for 6 years and above poverty guidelines. I know i need the cover letter and employment letter. Just wandering what others have done. Thank you!

Nope, 3 years are fine...

Christeen, you don't know how much we appreciate your knowledge of these things!!! It's great that when I have a question about something and luckily somebody asks and you answer!!! Thank you! Ok, one more question now  With having the IRS transcripts, do you still send in the W2s and 1099s too?

I collected all of this stuff and just wondering if I should mail it all in when they ask for it. I qualify for the 864ez too, but I have papers for my savings, checking, investments, etc... I don't need to submit that because of qualifying for 864ez?

I think Paris addressed your question... If you qualify for EZ, you dont need to clog them with the savings, checking and other info... If you have your transcripts and they are above the 125%, then the 1099s, W2s etc... are not needed...

For anyone confused the formula is this

Petitioner = Get NVC # + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send 854 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page

Benificerary = Get NVC# + receive 3032 + send 3032+ 3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay and wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail 230 package with all original/certified documents

======= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled

Good luck to all!!!

This formula is really great. Im going to send this to my husband as he has been asking me if i'm sure of what im doing and asking him to do .

Thanks!

If I were you, I won't follow everything that I read from posters here at VJ. As the saying goes, too many cooks spoil the broth, you know. Just follow what the NVC website says and you'll be in good hands!

I'm having my hubby send all the stuff to me in the US, then I'm sending it. I figured that was the only way to do it!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

In the above sample, I tried to put it really plain and simple the order of things... Whether your SO sends the 230 to you in the USA to mail to NVC or they mail directly is up to you and your trust in the Postal system of your SO's country

Senora Bonita... As far as advising people not to take the advice that they seek here, I believe that is a poor recommendation to give others, if you did not want or enlist the help of others and just followed the official website, perhaps you have no reason to be here on the VJ in the first place... Personally, I would prefer to get advice from people who have ACTUALLY DID IT, versus offical govt Bull$ht!!! When a member has a question, there are people to answer it... Can you say that about the "official govt website"??? And personally I would ask a chef who has cooked the recipe versus just trust the cookbook!

Yes, there is such good advice on VJ. I checked out the US State Dept NVC info and their website (at least the part about NVC) sucks!

So. I had a question about email size to the NVC because my I-864 email package keeps being rejected. If I didn't optin for electronic filing, then I'd just mail it in, but I can't. Anyway, I call the NVC and tell them my story, I opted in for electronic filing, blah blah blah, I'm trying to email it in but its being rejected, is there a size limit? She tells me, oh, just mail it in, it still shows that we are handling the case. So I say, but I opted in for electronic filing for the Montreal consulate I can't mail it in. She said to me, I don't think Montreal has electronic filing only Japan does.:bonk: So I said, yes it does, the instructions are right on your website, I emailed to this address to opt in and basically told her the procedure on how to efile for Montreal. She said oh, I didn't know that! I see it now, thank you for showing me that... Can I have a job at the NVC now please????

So I'm still having issues emailing the I-864 package. So I'm going to have to rescan a few things AGAIN to make the files smaller this time. (Last time I forgot to write the case number on the papers) GRRRRRRRRRR The hubby says I should send the info in a few emails. I don't trust the NVC to put them together, so it looks like I"m scanning again tonight... 3 nights in a row....:wacko:

MsSheka.... where is your NOA2??????

Redmen have you converted the scans to .PDF format? This will reduce the size tremendously and I bet will be accepted. I will try and find out what the maximum size is. Also if you are emailing it in you do not need to write the case number on it. Are you consolidating all documents in 1 attachment which would make it easier for them to view.

Yep, the files were all scanned as pdf's. But the email size was just about 24M.. So I looked through everything, and only sent 6 months of paystubs instead of a year and took out irrelevant info from my tax return (the schedules.. I did a 1040EZ last year, schedules not necessary) and took out my offer letter for my job and that took it down to about 17M and it finally got through and I got the Auto-Response email. I attached 8 documents and named them all accordingly. Cover Sheet, Transcripts 2006-2008, Paystubs April - September 2009, Tax Return 2008, Tax Return 2007, Tax Return 2006, Employment letter, and the I-864EZ form. My laptop was having issues with Yahoo, so I had to copy the files over to another computer to send them. I have not been having a good time with this the past few days.:bonk:

Thanks Dan for looking out for me. I appreciate it!

Now I really need to get to bed. Early day tomorrow... UGH!

1. Write your NVC Case number in the upper right hand corner.. Pen or pencil, I don't think it matters as long as it is legible.

2. I'd say use a binder clip or a rubber band to keep everything together. My motto is don't waste money on something they are going to throw out, there are more important things to spend your money on, and since there is no specified requirement in the instructions, go cheap!

3. That is all I had. I don't get check stubs either, so I downloaded them from my companies site.

Good luck to you!
