I hate NVC. Hate. Hate. HATE.

The review came back. The part regarding my grandmother's I864 was cleared. I was vindicated in that.

However, now they are requesting proof of domicile for me. I don't have any - why? I moved to Canada in Dec. 2005 with no immediate intention of moving back to the US.

So absolutely frustrated with this entire process.

Actually that is not un-common. Is there a chance your grandmother can write a Affadavit stating you will live there when you return to USA/ also enclose a utility bill of hers, and maybe even a State I.D. all to show she lives in USA.

Malr, Im so sorry this is happening to you.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

OMG, Mal (F) can you use a relative as your home address? like have them add you to their utility bill or something? or are they making u move to the usa first??

I'll have to talk to my grandmother about adding me to a bill. If they made a requirement for me to move to the US first I'd give up this entire process.

OMG!!! Your kidding?? Well I know your not, but that is sooo crazy! However, to address your problem... It is your intention to move to the USA so that is what you have to prove. If you are going to live with a relative, draft up a lease agreement (you can find one online), open a bank account showing that address and have some mail directed to that address... It is my understanding that you have to prove that you plan to live with your SO in the US and have made arrangements....

So Sorry!

I wish I were. Honestly. I'm at a complete loss on all of this. The whole requirement is beyond stupid. I wouldn't have filed if our intention wasn't to move back! I had already intended to open bank accounts, cell accounts, etc., but not until it was closer to us moving. We're probably 4 months from that. I don't exactly want to have a cell phone bill at this point in time.

I had already planned on doing that to bring to the interview, but apparently NVC has chosen my application to be nitpicky on.

But hey, this is my life in the past 5 years. One roadblock after another.

Montreal: BEAT!!! Approved!!!!!

Yay!

NVC number? What's that???

My hubby wears glasses. Should he wear them in the photos we send to NVC? I googled this and it's 50/50 so I can't figure it out!

I ordered my new passport with my name change (I had to pay full price, plus I expedited...wishful thinking on my part...). I had a debate going at the photo store on whether I could smile or not. I decided not to, and had the worst pic taken of me ever! I didn't want to risk getting rejected. They may just reject me for an awful picture.

If he wears them normally all the time then I would think it would be ok..??

See what this is doing to me? I'm actually sweating the small stuff!!!!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

we got assigned our case number 12 days after NOA2 approval.

but then again, we didn't know we were approved cos the status online wasn't updated (up to this minute, i just checked  ). we found out a week later when we got the NOA2 hard copy in the mail.

that happened to us also..it was frustrating! we could have started working on papers last week of august but uscis website is sooooo unreliable!

I called the NVC tonight at 11:30PM (Eastern) and only was on hold for one minute! Yesterday at an earlier time I waited 17 minutes.

Of course, I'm wasting my time anyway. No case # yet...I know, I know, it takes at least two weeks, but I'm impatient!!!!

Hello everyone,

I Just got an email from NVC (nvcinquiry@state.gov) today (10/06/2009). There are two emails; first one is DS-3032, second is DS-3032 & Affidavit of Support (AOS).

Now...I got DS-3032 again on the second email? Does anyone of you has this? I know you will say...just ignore the first one and throw it away. I'm just curious. I hope it just a mistake.

Anyway, I paid $70 for AOS fee online and emailed DS-3032 to nvinquiry@state.gov today. Should I mail out the DS-3032 hard copy too?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Randy

Randy most likely the second one was a carbon copy that was sent to your wife. I received 2 also and when I looked at whom it was addressed to one was to her and one to me. Hers being the carbon copy. Hope this helps. I kept both emails because they are a bit different each.

Then as you know I went to the website to pay AOS first one says denied then 10 min. later says in Processing, not sure what thats all about. Im sure I entered my checking acct.# correctly maybe its due to the message that they are shutting down in the morning to fix there website.

Ok good to go, they took the AOS now and I got a Transaction ID# so I printed it off, just to have a receipt. Thanks for all you late nighters for your help. Must be the updates at the NVC tomorrow, who knows.

Ok good to go, they took the AOS now and I got a Transaction ID# so I printed it off, just to have a receipt. Thanks for all you late nighters for your help. Must be the updates at the NVC tomorrow, who knows.

Late nighters indeed. It's 12:28 AM right now in San Diego, CA.

I'm going to bed right now. Good nite Sandra and all you folks out there. Have a sweet dream! :star:

Randy

I sent an email and also mailed the DS-3032. Now waiting for them to accept the payment and then we are off to the next step.
