Finn!! How are ya?? I've been hanging around waiting for my hubster to get here! He got his visa

the day after I left. Figures, LOL. Anyways we first got his ticket for the 19th of March but had to

postpone it a month. So now hopefully he will be here on the 16th of April!!

Glad to see your husband is now with you!!!

Hi And Sam! Congrats on your visa! My hubby couldn't come over right away either-he had to quit his job! Things are great and I'm so glad he's finally here! It's been almost two weeks and I think he's getting bored being a "house husband!" Keep me posted!!!!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Congrats to everyone who finally made it and they have their spouses with them, you are so lucky.

I have a question as we are in RFE now. The woman at the NVC told me on the phone we should pay close attention to my husbands residency part. She said we should put the most present first and only put the word present for the date, is this correct? Or should i put the day he started living there to the word present? Then on the next line under put where he lived at the dorm and the dates, and the next line under put where he lived before he moved into his present house? Does this sound right? Im not sure what we did wrong.

Also, she said we need to fill out part 2 just dont sign it, i thought i did.

And when we have to redo some part of the forms, we still have to redo the whole thing again and put everything that we put on the first forms?

Thanks for your help and best wishes, sweetcitywife

Sweetycitywife:

It will be filled as thus using this hypothetical situation:

Bombay, India -- 12/2006 -- Present.

Calcutta, India -- Age 16 -- 12/2006.

Calculate from the time your husband turned 16. Do NOT leave any gaps.

Also, stop writing in a dead thread. Move on over to March, ya? :)

I am so sorry that you have so much to do with the RFE! Yeah our RFE delayed us a good month too. And it was only 1 form that was missing!!! Mail sucks when it comes from MENA. But, I had found out that using the USPS is the best way to send things. I know one girl who sent her stuff DHL and they actually lost her papers!!!

Now that sucks!!!!

Good luck with the RFEs!

Hello David's Girl!!!! Wow, I bet you miss him! I don't know if my hubby's going to look for a job or what. I kind of like coming home to a clean house! ha! Things are very good! We've had no problems adjusting to living together, and he gets along great with my daughter! That's the most important thing. He's so easy to be around...he's so agreeable and so easygoing! I'm very happy!

We have to keep this thread alive!!!!! Tell David hi from the secret agent!

Hey David's girl.. Glad that the hubby is home... sorry the hours suck, I have to get used to dealing with my hubbys unpredictible schedule... a few days out, a few days home on and off the ships... But it is still better to have him home every few days then out at se 4-5 months in a row! He is getting used to not having his cabin steward, when he first got here he put all his dirty laundry on the floor at the foot of the bed so I told him "unless you brought one of the cabin crew from the cruise ship you better pick that up and put it in the hamper!"...lol... Now I just have to make him realize that we PAY for the water and electricity here, on the ship he ran the engines and systems that desalanized the water and generated the power... here ya have to pay for it!!!

Jude... I know he is getting bored, but have him enjoy the time home.. pretty soon he'll be working and only get the 2 weeks USA vacation!! Blah!

Ok everyone say a little prayer that the egyptian army will finally give my hubster his release form!! I'm telling ya, I thought it was hard trying to get him the visa!! That was a piece of cake compared to this mess! Anyways he goes back in front of the board on Monday so hopefully he'll be on his way!!! Expedia sucks when you try to change flights, even though the customer support girl was really nice!! I ended up cancelling his first flight and rebook for the 16th of April.

Now I am waiting for the credit on my credit card!!! What a mess!!! :bonk::bonk:

We are both here and he says hi to you both s well.

Yeah, I do miss him but it is better than what we had before. It just is not what we expected. We thought we would both work days and have all of our evenings together. We had supper one night and lunch another day last week and that helped. I miss him a lot when we are apart but we are so very happy when we are together. Glad to hear things are going so well for you too.! Di

My dad was in the Navy for most of my life so I know about them leaving for months on end. I don't envy you that bit! Can you go on one of the cruises?

I did not realize he was in the military. So are you waiting for them to grant his discharge? Hopefully that will go as smoothly as the interview!
