Congratulations! I bet you are all so excited!

David got the visa and will be here the 8th. I think he going to get a return ticket even if we dont use the other end because it is half the cost.

I can't wait! I feel like a little kid on Christmas eve!

I know the feeling! I leave in three weeks to see my hubby and I'm already like that! Hey, have you checked Iceland Air? I have no clue if they fly to the East Coast, but I got my hubby a one-way ticket for $500 from London to Seattle. And we're on the same flight of course! Tricky but I managed it.

I have a eight-hour layover in London in three weeks, and a college friend who lives there is going to pick me up and take me around. I've been there once (for two weeks with my daughter and our friends), but any suggestions you have for me to do? She suggested Windsor and Eton (I can't remember where Eton is!).

Edited so say: I meant to email you this instead but I'll just leave it here!

Edited by FinnLove

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

I dont know windsor or eton. You could take a cruise down the Thames. It was 9 pounds one way and I forget the deal for round trip. It was cool and you got to see a lot. You could go to Buckingham palace and walk from there to area near Westminster and Big Ben and then hop on the boat , which is what we did or go to Traflagar sqaure (where you can also see Big Ben) and the National galleries which were free. We walked about a block from there to a nice pub for lunch. We spent most of a day at the Tower of London. There is a lot to see including the crown jewels. There are really cool views of the Tower bridge from there too.

If you go to Harrods you could use most of the time in the one shop. The place is massive and includes several restaurants and counter service. The area by elevators is like the inside of a pyramid. Pretty neat. We loved dining at the Audley which was in Mayfair near the embassy. It was my first time so I'm afraid I'm not much help!
