NVC October 2009 edition

Hello all!

First at all, CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF U THAT GOT THEIR VISA ! That is great!! I can imagine how happy u and your loved ones feel now after many months of waiting and stress!!

As my husband said, we r still waiting for our case to be completed at the NVC, I know it is taking longer since we r trying to change my interview here in Spain instead of my country, (Bolivia) We really expected to be aproved until 2 days ago, but it didnt happen, so there is nothing we can do but wait a March date. I have to admit I dont get here as often as I used to.. because.... dont understand me wrong.. I´m so glad everyone´s aproval, but I wish I were one of them LOL!!!! Im so jealous!!!!! I also have to admit these days are very hard. I know most of us waiting to be aproved, dont see to our spouses long time ago, but every day this is harder and harder! I can´t wait to get my case complete and get an interview date!!

Át this step maybe we will get interviews date along with Ms Sheka,

This thread is so special, Finn, Mark, MsSheka, Abbielovesjeremy, redmen99, (maybe im forgetting someone) we started together.. and is great to know all of u r getting aproved!!

My husband tells me not to get here cause I get so depressed, but Im still being so faithfull, I know it is gonna happen! I know we wil get our visa soon! and I know I will be with my husband and all these hard times will be just story!!

I also saw MsSheka is running!! That is the way she is! she never loses time!!

I will post as soon as we hear from NVC.

I know exactly how you are feeling, I feel it quite often and that's when I take a break from this site. I was one of the first approved from the August group (NOA2 September 11th) and I'm still waiting for my hubby's interview to be scheduled in Montreal. I guess I should count my blessings because I have seen my husband a lot during this process and I know most of the people here haven't. But not knowing when we can be together permanently makes parting that much more sad. Only 17.5 more days of hell until I see him again...

Congrats to everyone who has been approved, good luck to those just starting out or waiting for an approval and best wishes for a speedy interview date for the rest of us!

Thanks Karin I will always be on VJ (maybe not as much when hubby gets here) but i will always share my experience with others and encourage them because this is a life changing experience for me and my hubby

OMG Red!! I thought you forgotten about us!!! Yeah, I know I should take a break from this place but each time someone I know gets an approval or finishes one part of this journey to begin another I feel a little happiness! Like it was me going right along with them.

I know it's hard for you to still be waiting for an appointment, but then from what I read it does take Cananda a while to schedule appts. Egypt is good for scheduling appts but then getting the actual visa afterwards is where we will doing all of our waiting. I am just hoping and praying that me going over for the interview will speed things up alittle for us!!! I hope, I hope and pray!!!

Plus I will get to see my husband!!!!

Yeah I think what happened is that my mailman was running late on Saturday because I swear I checked!!! But then there was a bunch of bills when I saw it yesterday..maybe I just knew what was coming and ignored it??

Well, after a bunch of complicated maneuvering, my wife and stepson have their plane tickets. Most permutations were double or triple the expected price, but we ended up with the following:

1. I won't be going to Peru to get them

2. Luckily her best friend (the one who introduced us and lives near here) is in Peru now and flies back on 02/15.

3. I was able to get flights on the Lima to Houston leg okay, but not the Houston to Seattle.

4. Trying to just making Lima to Houston arrangements was a bust (more than twice as expensive and the airline "couldn't" give us direct to Houston... she would have to go through Newark, NJ, of all places....

5. Checking on doing national one ways for me to go to Houston to meet them wasn't too expensive, but I noticed that the Houston to Seattle flight on offer was the same one we had wanted from the get-go.

6. Made reservations for them on that flight (with our common friend).

So, she has tickets for Lima to Houston, and then two separate itineraries to Seattle (one via Newark, and one non-stop). Doing it this way only added 120 per ticket (plus baggage fees, if my wife can't convince the airline to check the bags through in Lima).

Oh well, not really how we wanted this to turn out. But, my baby will be with me on the 15th of next month (oh happy belated Valentine's Day!!

That is great Mark!! Congratulations on getting that all straightened out!!!! I know that is the one thing I am not looking forward to do. My husband has never flown international and he gets sick on short trips . Soo I am going to make sure he has enough dramamine to make it through and hopefully I can at least meet him in NYC..I hope!! Now let us just make it through the interview in a timely manner(we all know MENA countries get AP/AR after interviews )

On change of address from earlier. I contacted USCIS. Proper thing to do is inform POE (and pray). They stated to contact if welcome letters not received in 30 days to report. I guess it will just have to be an ongoing project to get last names and addresses and such sorted out to my liking....

Great news Mark! You do have my head spinning with the flight info though...ha! I don't quite get how the two itineraries work...you have me beat though! Finn Man won't be here until 3/3...but I go get him on 2/23! I was able to get a very reasonable flight (and his one-way flight only wsa $500 on Iceland Air!). I can't wait for all of us to get together!

How did you manage to get your return to coincide with his one-way? That was the problem I couldn't solve...
