Hi everyone! I'm back home after spending an amazing 23 days with my hubby in Italy and Finland, and being at his interview with him! Being alone tonight will suck. Oh well. I'm flying back in February to bring him home!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well-hard to catch up! Twisted K, good luck on hubby's interview! Christeen-we spent last night (well, Italy Sat night!) at the Modigliano like you recommended and absolutely loved it! Wish we had spent our other nights there instead of a place that my friend recommended that we hated! Oh well. Thanks again!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

PS If any of you are going overseas and security is still the same, get to the airport three hours early! Rome took forever today...pat-downs and a search of all carry-ons at the airplane gate also of every single passenger, so my plane left two hours late. They did two at a time (female/male), and it takes a long time with that many passengers! Lucky we caught up with the time in the air and I didn't miss my connection in Philly! A pilot I met at the Philly airport said London is bad also...

Wow thanks for the insight Finn! I am planning on going to Egypt in Feb. for my husband's interview so I will make sure I have enough time in between connecting flights!! I was wondering if that incident on Christmas had beefed up the security!!! :thumbs:

they kept his passport and put us on AP, stating they do not need any additional documents from us and they are keeping his passport so that once AP is completed, they will issue the visa. DOS isn't opened yet, so i will call ASAP to see what kind of AP we are on, if they are willing to tell me :P
