My hubby had his interview today (they let us do it a day early after medical so we had nothing with us!) and was approved! More later when I'm not typing on iphone. Congrats to others!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Thanks! Yes, they had all 7 lbs of my stuff from the beginning! Apparently it was the joke of the day...i think they were glad we had nothing since our interview was tomorrow. They only asked one question-were we married before. When the Finn got his fingerprints (and when we were told to come back for interview in an hour, forget about tomorrow), I was told they may want the original of my div doc- I didn't have it. For 2 hrs I was sick and freaked. When it was our turn, I was shaking...and the guy passed us without asking for original...i'm so glad I was here! So easy, besides the freaking out for a bit. For anyone divorced, bring original doc. I didn't even think of it. The photo book of course was at the hotel waiting for tomorroww Ha! We pick up his visa at 5 tomorrow. Now it's off to celebrate with good Italian pizza and wine!!! whew

thanks andrea i was like that to but see dos cant do nothing they said they have the case so its their shot ,i think the consul dont believe in my relationship because he told myhusband that he only saw two people in the wedding which was a lie ,so my husband wanted to show the pic where his parents siters and my parents and 20 other family members were ,he said no save it for when she comes .all these nights since the i cant sleep just thinking all the stuff i got to tell that guy when i see him making me go there with my newborn ,and on top of that i got laid off on december 4th so i have a heavy bag in my back ,but kike i always say there is always a reason for what eve happens in ur life

Well I am sorry you are having to go throught all this. I would think that after the NVC gave you an expidition then that should show you have justifiable reasons to do the interview early. Well don't worry yourself over something you can't control. Just take good care of yourself and your baby. As far as jobs go...they come and go and where one door closes another will open..or even a window!!!

Congratulations Macy, Dan and Finn!!! That is wonderfull you all passed!!!

Yes Finn, I all ready knew to send my original divorce certificate to my exhusband. That seems to be a big issue in Cairo! I am still waiting to hear if when we will get our interview. I am still hoping for February so I can go over there for it!!!

I wish that once we have the interview we will know if he will get the visa or not. Egypt is known for putting people into AP/AR. Won't hear anything from 2 weeks to 6 months or longer. So just getting the interview doesn't really mean anything to us except then we will begin the real waiting...

no diane ,my husband told him i cant fly im to close to c section.so that mean co answer was okwhen she hasthe baby and gets better call for interview

That seems unbelievably unfair. I hope your senator can help. I would also contact the local news media. really. A woman here did it cos she was dying and her parents were not being allowed in and it;s amazing how quickly visas are issued when it is in the news! Good luck.
