wow julie im so sorry i know wat that feels i got that no on my k1 and thats why im also nervious ,but like i always sy there is always a reason to everything that happens in life

Well, and just to add to today's drama.... I have finally had a chance to talk to my husband and he said that the interview itself was really easy, relaxed, and nothing to get worked up about. The ONLY reason we were denied was because of the CIMT, and the CO felt bad having to deny him. But that's the law, and he had to do it. Despite our denial, all of you should take heart because the interview wasn't as bad as we thought it would be.

Now, let's get some cases complete!!!

Hi Julie,

I'm so sorry to hear that. I don't really what CIMT is..I hope thing can work out. Just be strong and thinkful..I do support you..and Good luck..lots of luck..

Best wishes..

Cheers!

Hi Julie-I'm just catching up here. Sorry for all that #######, but it's good the interview was easy. Think positive!!!!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

I'm so sorry you guys can still log in. I'm telling you, that last bit at the NVC is the worst part of this journey in my opinion!!

We're back on track. To answer any questions, our visa was denied due to a 28 yr old larceny charge. In order to get around the inadmissibility, we have to submit a waiver of inadmissibility. We filed that yesterday, but the Consular Officer wanted more details on the court records, and the cashier had closed before my husband's interview was over, so he couldn't pay with cash. My husband was able to get the letter from the court today, and I express mailed a cashier's check, so by the end of the week, we should be back on track and our waiver should be headed to London.

One word of advice -if you have to pay a fee, and you plan to pay in cash, make sure you know how late the cashier stays in! Oh, and apparently, EVERYBODY goes into the embassy at opening time from the outside queue, so even though you might freeze to death, get in line. My husband was the last one in, and as a result, was the last one interviewed. He was at the embassy for 4.5 hours and in a bus for 9 hours yesterday! Brutal...

Amazingly, we still love each other.
