Hi all, just wanted to let you guys know that my wife got her visa today. We went yesterday for the interview yesterday and got the visa today. I want to thank everyone here who has shared their experiences and gave advise. Hope that all out there that have not gotten through get theirs soon and have a smooth process.

Congratulations to all those who got their visa, got their interview dates, got sign-in failed off the NVC site and those who have had progress with NVC. We have been pretty busy the past few days organizing everything i will need for the interview and checking on airlines for best airfare deals. 10 days to go before our interview and more than being nervous, I'm pretty much excited because that means it's one step closer for us to be together.

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

From what I heard from those who have had interview here in our country I might be asked for pictures, chat logs, emails, and certificate of marriage from a local government agency. My husband has also sent me the packet he sent USCIS and NVC so I will be bringing those too. I just want to make sure I have everything they could possibly ask for ready and handy.

Don't worry Finn!! You're going to be there with him!! Just make sure you have all the copies of the papers you sent it!

I'll all ready sent my husband all the copies of emails and phone call logs and 2 photo albums!!

Just a FYI on our journey...just checked the AVR and it said that it's update that it received the documents requested to give 6-8 weeks for them to process it!!!! Come on login failed~!~~~~~~ :thumbs::thumbs:

Finn, dont stress yourself too too much about the proof of relationship, just bring some photos and contact info as back up... 99% they wont even ask to see anything... Since Italy is not considered a high fraud consulate, they are not overly concerned with visa fraud... much more concerned with being able to financially support them in the US...
