Well.. no update for me. Operator I spoke to today is misinformed (seems to be the case with supervisor reviews). She's like, "allow 2-4 weeks". No, you idiot, it's 10-15 business days.

I cant believe they're still stringing you along with this S***.... I really hope that you get someone that can solve this for you!!!!

I know, it's total bullsh1t. I'm tired of it and hating life right now. They have two days to finish. Then I'm going to go ballistic.

well, just organized the i864 packet. now, just waiting for the invoice to be marked paid, then off it goes :dancing:

i got an email from NVC today. they sent me the choice of agent form. i read some people emailing it. do i also need to snail mail it? i dunno what to do. pls :help::crying:

Hi Abbie! I've seen VJers suggest to do both. I'm going to have the hubby email it, and maybe somehow I can snail mail it (maybe he can scan it to me? Not sure).

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

No, no proof of that... But they seem to have really slowed down with all these USCIS approvals recently, might not be a bad idea to send the one with the barcode... Just in case

The gentleman I spoke to at NVC said it was not necessary and in some cases, it can slow down your process at NVC. He said choose one or the other. I'm not really sure what to believe. The government confuses me completely. And the Canadian government should oust Harper already. *rage*

Not sure about that, when I asked, they said with the barcoded form it is easier for them to scan in??? But this all depends on the operator you get!!! The also told me to either e-mail or mail and I did both, the hardcopy was checked in 4 days before the e-mail???? I don't think they really KNOW the process, they just know what they see on their screens...
