congrats david's girl.

Thanks! I'm thinking we wont get our interview date until after the 15th of Dec. He is coming here for Christmas and the return flight is Jan 5th so I'm hoping they have not scheduled the interview that day or we could have a problem. I'm really hoping to go with him for moral support and just to be there in case of any problems. I am sooo excited. It didn't seem real with the login failue but it does now! :dance::dance::dance:

That is sooo great!!! :thumbs::dance:

I am hoping to have all the RFE stuff done so hopefully get a Jan interview! Have you all been researching with past interviews to see how long does it normally take for your embassy to give approvals? I know that Egypt is one of the few that actually uses AR/AP to postpone giving out visas. They may tell you 2 weeks but it can take months in Cairo. I am really going to try to go there for my husband's interview. Hopefully it will shorten the AR.

Congrats you guys!!! :dance::dance:

I dont know what AR/AP means.

They courier the visa to you within 5 days and some folks report getting it before they left thier hotel.

It wont matter because he cannot come until he sells hs house.

Congratulations Diane :) :) :)

Thanks. Hopefully you guys will be coming right along next.

AVR has been updated for me as well. Both my wife and stepson's cases have been updated to Case Complete as of 11/19.

Mark :)

Woo hoo! :thumbs:

Yay to the Scots and Mark!

I know you may be bummed to have to wait until January, but at least you won't have to pay up the you know what to get a flight in December!!!!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

The AVR now says case complete. I have the medical out the way and I have had a fair bit of interest in my house. If someone would just make a half decent offer and I get an interview date mid January then I will be on my way home to Massachusetts and I really will be a Scot in Mass! :dance:

We just need an NVC case number to do it and they have changed the rules in London that you MUST have the medical results at the embassy before the interview or you have to cancel it and reschedule so best to do it early. Why are there such different rules between embassies? They are all US so they should all play by the same rules. It is confusing. :blink:

AR is additional review or administrative review and AP is administrative Processing...in other words they are doing extra checking up on the beneficiary or petitioner....it is very common in the MENA countries.....

That is how it is in Egypt too, and they include a list of acceptable doctors and clinics that the embassy has approved.

So my husband can't get his medical exam until he gets the letter from the NVC and has to do before the interview

You're luck you get a list. There is ONE clinic in the whole of the UK. It is 400 miles from my house. They also do medicals for Canada, Australia and New Zealand. It means they can charge what they like cos there is no competition. I wish I could print money like that!

Italy has one doctors office in Naples and you do the medical the day before the interview, they send all the results to the consulate the same afternoon...
