my "checklist" for this time around was for our rfe. the 6-8 weeks is a standard timeframe. our ds 230 took about 10 days to review.

i called nvc earlier, and apparently someone is working, just not on my case, hehehe. he said that they are still reviewing. kind of makes me wonder how long does it take to review one sheet of paper? i even asked if they even looked at it yet, and he said it is under review

PS. When your signature says, AVR receives checklist, what does the AVR say exactly? My AVR currently says that NVC has recieved all documents and to wait 6-8 weeks for a final decision. o_o

Our AVR says they got everythin the 6th and to wait 6-8 weeks and they will contact us

I love how it says they'll contact us. They never do. D: We have to contact them. And I'm cursing myself now since I lost the piece of paper that has my husbands deployment orders on it. :( I guess I will have to wait until he's online again. Curse the internet in Kuwait.

Now that is one of the funniest things I've ever read! Lucky I wasn't drinking anything or my laptop would be ruined. HA!!! However, I have two things:

1. I want Sandra Bullock to play me. She's silly like me.

2. Who's Dolph Lundgren?

Okay a 3rd thing...we met almost 22 years ago, not 20.... ;)

I thought you were a red head!

Dolph Lundgren is like two days older than dirt. He just couldnt think of any other tall blond guys.lol

Possible titles:

The Finn Whisperer

From Finn to Eternity

And my favorite, being a lit major:

The Finn Again Wakes

Mark :)

From Finn to Eternity get's my vote!

OMG thanks for the laugh! That is a hoot! I needed that, before I walk outside in minus six degrees to look at Russia...

You must be at Sarah Palin's house :)

I can see Russia from my backyard. lol

With all the hot air in Scot's system, he should be played by Ed O'Neill and David's girl by Roseanne!

Roseanne?! What did I ever do to you? :crying:

Yep, curlier than anything red hair...but I still want Sandra Bullock to play me!

Finnlove is quiet today. I hope she isn't still standing in the cold looking at Russia. Maybe she has been summoned to the white house to explain herself to Eddie Murphy! I'm flying to London tomorrow for my medical. It is supposed to be 60 degrees and sunny. I'll be thinking of FinnLove shivering while I am having tea on the lawn of Buckingham Palace with the queen. I hope she doesn't try to talk me out of leaving this great country for that strange Americkyland!

ha! I was working in minus 13 degree weather...standing outside...but can't tell you what I was doing!!! ;)

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

yeah, same here. immigration gives me headaches. only time i haven't had them lately is when i do not speak of it. but unfortunately, i am constantly thinking about it. husband tells me i think too much, and tries to change the conversation

Tell me, why is it that the guys are the ones that are generally more relaxed about all this? I sent him the DS-230 package minus photos becaue he said he still had some US-style passport photos of me...now he says he doesn't, but hey, it's no big deal just go take some more and send them when you have...if it were that easy to take US-style photos here I would have done!!

Don't worry, Mark, we will get there...I hope!! Which stage are you at now? We're still waiting for them to accept the DS-3230, and sent the I-864 the same day it was generated. By the way, my husband always boasts of American efficiency - I immediately emailed the DS-3230 back using the template here, and also sent in the hardcopy 'official' version using priority posting, must be signed for etc. It left the UK the same day and was in the US the next, but 7 days later it still hasn't been delivered. Very efficient

Hehe, I do tell him if we were both to be as laidback as he is nothing would get done!! The funny thing is he wants me in the US loads more than I want to leave the UK, and yet I'm the one chasing things. To be fair though, my departure here is not isolated as it affects others, and it's for their sake I want things tidied up as soon as possible.

I don't think many would argue with that :(
